Liquid Pads for Dosing Capsules

Liquid pad dosing capsules solve the problem of running concentrates, oils, and liquid extracts through a vaporiser designed for dry herb. Each liquid pad is a small stainless steel mesh disc (approximately 13 x 6 mm) that sits inside your dosing capsule to wick and distribute non-solid materials evenly across the heating chamber. This set of four pads keeps your vaporiser's oven clean while delivering smooth, efficient vapour. If you own a Storz & Bickel Mighty, Mighty+, Crafty, or Crafty+ and you've been wanting to buy a simple solution for running waxes or oils through your dosing capsules, these liquid pad dosing capsules are the missing piece.

Why You Need Liquid Pads for Your Dosing Capsules

Liquid pad dosing capsules prevent uneven heating, material waste, and sticky residue build-up that occurs when concentrates are loaded directly into a capsule without a pad. Dosing capsules were designed for dry herb. Drop a concentrate or liquid extract straight into one without a liquid pad and you'll get uneven heating, wasted material pooling at the bottom, and a sticky residue baked onto the capsule mesh that's a nightmare to clean.

The stainless steel mesh acts as a wick. It absorbs the liquid, spreads it across a larger surface area, and holds it in contact with the heated walls of the capsule. According to data from the Beckley Foundation's research into vaporisation efficiency, even heat distribution is one of the most important factors in reducing material waste during a session. The result: more vapour per load, less waste, and a capsule you can actually clean afterwards. At 13 mm across, each pad sits flush inside a standard Storz & Bickel dosing capsule with zero modification needed. You press it in, add your concentrate on top, close the lid, and you're done.

One honest limitation: these pads do reduce the usable volume inside the capsule by roughly 30%. If you're loading thick, viscous concentrates, you'll want to warm the pad with a quick empty heat cycle first so the material flows into the mesh rather than sitting on top. Thin oils and liquid extracts absorb immediately — no pre-heating needed.

How to Use Stainless Steel Liquid Pad Dosing Capsules

Using liquid pad dosing capsules takes under 60 seconds from start to first draw — here is the step-by-step process.

  1. Take one liquid pad from the set and drop it into an empty Storz & Bickel dosing capsule. The pad should sit flat at the bottom — give it a gentle press with your finger to make sure it's seated.
  2. Apply a small amount of concentrate, wax, or liquid extract directly onto the surface of the liquid pad. A rice-grain-sized amount (roughly 0.05 g) is a good starting point for waxes; for thinner oils, 2 to 3 drops will do.
  3. Close the dosing capsule lid. The lid should click shut without resistance — if it doesn't, you've overloaded. Remove a bit of material.
  4. Insert the loaded dosing capsule into your vaporiser's heating chamber as you normally would.
  5. Set your vaporiser temperature. For concentrates, most users find the best results between 190 and 210 degrees Celsius. Start lower and work up — you'll taste the difference.
  6. After your session, let the capsule cool for at least 2 minutes before opening. The spent liquid pad can be soaked in isopropyl alcohol (90% or higher) for 10 to 15 minutes, then rinsed and air-dried. Reuse until the mesh starts to look warped or clogged.
