G Pen Connect Glass Adapter

The G Pen Connect Glass Adapter is a precision-ground borosilicate glass fitting that connects your G Pen Connect vaporiser directly to any standard bong, dab rig, or water pipe. Available in six variants — 10mm, 14mm, and 18mm in both male and female configurations — it replaces the universal multi-adapter that ships with the Connect, giving you a tighter, more stable seal and a cleaner draw. Over 70% of customers who buy this adapter choose the 14mm male variant, making it the most popular size in our catalogue. One adapter, one job, zero wobble.

Which Size Do You Need?

Grab your water pipe and measure the joint — that's the opening where the bowl or banger sits. If you don't have calipers lying around (and who does), here's the quick trick: a 10mm joint is roughly the diameter of a biro pen (about 9.75mm ground joint), 14mm is about the width of your index finger (14.5mm standard taper), and 18mm is close to a 1p coin (18.8mm outer diameter). Still not sure? Most standard-sized bongs use a 14mm joint — approximately 80% of medium-sized rigs on the market default to this size.

Variant Joint Type Joint Size SKU
10mm Male Male (inserts into the rig) 10mm VS0249
14mm Male Male (inserts into the rig) 14mm VS0250
18mm Male Male (inserts into the rig) 18mm VS0251
10mm Female Female (sits over the rig joint) 10mm VS0252
14mm Female Female (sits over the rig joint) 14mm VS0253
18mm Female Female (sits over the rig joint) 18mm VS0254

Male vs. female — the 10-second explanation: Look at your water pipe's joint. If it sticks up (a protruding tube), your rig has a male joint and you need a female adapter to sit over it. If it's a socket (a recessed opening), your rig has a female joint and you need a male adapter to slide into it. Most dab rigs and bongs use female joints, so most people end up ordering a male adapter.

Complete your setup: If you're running the G Pen Connect as your daily driver, pick up a spare G Pen Connect Replacement Tank to keep things fresh between deep cleans. Residue builds up faster than you'd think when you're running concentrates through water — a clean tank makes a real difference to flavour. You can also order a G Pen Connect Battery to have a backup power source ready.

Why a Dedicated Glass Adapter Beats the Stock Multi-Adapter

A dedicated glass-on-glass adapter eliminates the air leaks and flex that the stock silicone multi-adapter introduces. The G Pen Connect ships with a universal silicone adapter that technically fits 10mm, 14mm, and 18mm joints. It works. We won't pretend it doesn't. But "works" and "works well" are two different things. The silicone flexes, the seal isn't always airtight, and over time the rubber picks up residue that's a pain to clean. We've had customers come back specifically to buy this glass adapter after a few weeks of wrestling with the stock one.

A glass-on-glass connection is simply tighter. There's no flex, no air leak, and no rubbery taste creeping into your draw. You get the full benefit of water filtration — cooler, smoother vapour with nothing lost to a dodgy seal. According to a 2020 report by the EMCDDA (European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction), vaporisation devices that heat material below combustion temperatures — typically under 230 °C — are associated with reduced production of certain pyrolytic byproducts compared to smoking. A proper seal means you're actually capturing all of that cleaner vapour in the chamber instead of losing it through gaps. A separate review published in the International Journal of Environmental Research and Public Health (PMC7757764, 2020) reached similar conclusions regarding reduced harmful chemical output from vapour versus combustion.

The honest limitation: Glass is glass. Drop this on a tile floor and it's done. The stock silicone adapter survives falls — this one won't. If you're clumsy or you tend to use your rig outdoors at festivals, keep the silicone as a backup. For home use on a desk or table, the glass adapter is the better choice every time.

How to Use the G Pen Connect Glass Adapter

Installation takes under 30 seconds: twist the adapter into the Connect body, seat it in your rig, and you're ready to draw.

  1. Identify your water pipe joint. Check the size (10mm, 14mm, or 18mm) and type (male or female) using the guide above. Measure twice, order once.
  2. Twist the adapter into the G Pen Connect. The adapter screws directly into the base of the Connect vaporiser body. Turn clockwise until snug — you'll feel it seat. Don't overtighten; glass threads don't forgive gorilla grip.
  3. Insert the adapter into your rig. Slide the male adapter into your water pipe's female joint, or place the female adapter over your rig's male joint. It should sit flush with no wobble.
  4. Load your concentrate. Add your material to the G Pen Connect's heated chamber as you normally would.
  5. Heat and fill the chamber. Press the button on the Connect battery to activate. The G Pen Connect runs on an 850 mAh battery with 3 temperature settings (204 °C, 232 °C, and 260 °C) — pick your preferred heat level and let the chamber of your water pipe fill with vapour.
  6. Draw from the mouthpiece. Once the chamber is milky, pull from your water pipe's mouthpiece. The water filters and cools the vapour on the way through.
  7. Clean regularly. Wipe the glass adapter with isopropyl alcohol (90%+) after every 5–10 sessions. A cotton bud cleans the threaded section where residue accumulates — it sorts it in seconds.
