Stashbox Tightvac 0.12L — Vacuum-Sealed Storage That Actually Works
The Stashbox Tightvac 0.12L is a compact vacuum-sealed container that keeps herbs, spices, and small valuables fresh and protected from air, moisture, and odour. Measuring just 0.12 litres, this MiniVac version from Tightvac fits in your pocket, bag, or bedside drawer — small enough to disappear, solid enough to trust with anything you'd rather not lose or let go stale.
Pick Your Colour
The Tightvac 0.12L comes in 5 colours — Yellow, Blue, Green, Black, and Red. All identical in size and function. Black is the most discreet for travel. The brighter colours are easier to spot in a drawer full of clutter. No wrong answer here; grab whichever one you won't mix up with your mate's.

Complete your setup: if you're storing ground herbs, a decent grinder makes all the difference — check out the SLX Grinder or the classic Santa Cruz Shredder. And if 0.12L isn't enough, Tightvac makes larger models up to 2.35L for bulk storage at home.
Why You Need a Tightvac Stashbox
Here's the thing about storing herbs, spices, or anything aromatic in a regular jar or plastic bag: within 48 hours, oxidation starts doing its thing. Terpenes evaporate, moisture creeps in (or out), and what was once fragrant and fresh becomes dry and flavourless. We've had customers bring in bags of herbs that were barely a week old and already smelled like cardboard. Air is the enemy, and most containers let it straight in.
The Tightvac 0.12L solves this with a patented push-down vacuum seal. You press the lid, air gets forced out, and the contents sit in a low-oxygen environment until you open it again. It's not a laboratory-grade vacuum, but it's a massive step up from a zip-lock bag or a screw-top jar. Customers consistently report that intensely scented herbs stay dry, aromatic, and airtight for weeks longer than in conventional containers. The seal also works in reverse — nothing gets out. Throw this in your bag and you won't be broadcasting what's inside to everyone around you.
The honest limitation? At 0.12 litres, this is genuinely small. Think of it as a single-session container or a travel stash. You're not fitting an entire spice rack in here. That said, the compact size is exactly the point — it's the best stashbox for travel, slipping into a coat pocket or the smallest compartment of a backpack without adding bulk. If you need home storage for larger quantities, size up to the Tightvac 0.57L or 1.3L. But for daily carry and keeping a small amount in peak condition, the MiniVac is the one we'd grab.
How to Use the Tightvac 0.12L
- Pull the lid straight up to open the Tightvac. You'll feel a slight resistance — that's the vacuum seal releasing.
- Place your herbs, spices, vitamins, jewellery, or small items inside. Don't overfill; leave roughly 5mm of headroom so the lid can compress properly.
- Place the lid back on top and press down firmly until you hear or feel the seal engage. The lid should sit flush and feel solid — no wobble.
- Store at room temperature, in a cupboard, or in the fridge or freezer for maximum freshness. The BPA-free polypropylene handles temperature extremes without cracking.
- To release, pull the lid up again. The slight hiss you hear is air re-entering — proof the vacuum was doing its job.
