PieceMaker Unikorn Silicone Water Pipe

The PieceMaker Unikorn is a limited edition silicone water pipe shaped like a unicorn — compact, virtually unbreakable, and engineered for smooth, bubble-rich filtration. Forget shelf ornaments that look fun but smoke like rubbish. This one actually performs, thanks to PieceMaker's angled hex-tek stem and a stainless steel bowl with integrated mesh. Available in two colourways while stocks last.

Limited Edition Food-Grade Silicone Angled Hex-Tek Stem Stainless Steel Bowl Virtually Unbreakable

Which Unikorn?

Two colourways, same pipe. The White version comes in white with rainbow accents — the classic unicorn look. The Hikea is blue and yellow, a bit bolder, a bit more playful. Both use the same hex-tek stem, the same stainless steel bowl, and the same food-grade silicone. Pick whichever one makes you smile. Neither will let you down functionally.

Complete your session setup with a proper grinder — the SLX Non-Stick Grinder pairs well here, since its ceramic coating means you're not fumbling with sticky aluminium while trying to pack a unicorn's bowl. A set of pipe cleaners and some isopropyl alcohol will keep the Unikorn's removable parts fresh between sessions.

Why the Unikorn Silicone Water Pipe Actually Makes Sense

Glass bongs are brilliant until they're not. One stumble at a mate's house, one clumsy elbow on the coffee table, and you're sweeping shards off the floor at 1 AM. We've seen it happen more times than we can count since opening the shop in 1999. The Unikorn solves the breakage problem entirely — food-grade silicone flexes on impact instead of shattering. Drop it, sit on it, stuff it in a backpack. It bounces back.

But here's the honest bit: most novelty-shaped silicone pipes are exactly that — novelties. They look fun on Instagram and smoke like a blocked drain. PieceMaker actually put engineering hours into this one. The angled hex-tek stem creates more bubble surface area than a straight downstem, which means cooler, smoother filtration. The stainless steel bowl with integrated mesh means you're not fishing for a separate gauze every time you pack it. The ergonomic carb hole sits where your thumb naturally rests, so you're not contorting your hand into weird positions mid-session.

The one limitation worth knowing: silicone retains flavour residue more than borosilicate glass does over time. You'll want to clean the Unikorn regularly — the removable mouthpiece and head make that straightforward, but don't skip it. A monthly soak in warm soapy water keeps things tasting fresh. Compared to something like the Piecemaker Kommuter (their more traditional silicone pipe), the Unikorn trades portability for conversation value. The Kommuter is slimmer and fits in a jacket pocket. The Unikorn is a party piece that also happens to rip properly.

How to Use the PieceMaker Unikorn Water Pipe

  1. Fill the Unikorn's body with water through the mouthpiece opening. Add enough so the bottom of the hex-tek stem is submerged by roughly 1-2 cm. Too much water and you'll get splashback; too little and you lose the filtration benefit.
  2. Grind your material to a medium consistency — not dust-fine, or it'll pull through the integrated mesh. A coarse-to-medium grind works best.
  3. Pack the stainless steel bowl. Don't ram it tight. A gentle press gives you airflow; an overpacked bowl gives you frustration.
  4. Place your thumb over the ergonomic carb hole on the side of the pipe.
  5. Light the bowl and inhale steadily through the mouthpiece. You should see bubbles forming through the hex-tek stem — that's the filtration doing its job.
  6. Release the carb hole to clear the chamber, then exhale.
  7. After your session, remove the mouthpiece and head. Empty the water. Rinse all parts with warm water. For a deeper clean, use isopropyl alcohol or warm soapy water and let the silicone parts soak for 15-20 minutes.
