2. Pour a small amount of water into the base. You want enough to submerge the bottom of the downstem by about 1-2cm. Too much and you'll get splashback; too little and you lose the filtration benefit. The LED lights will activate as soon as water touches the base.
3. Mill your herb to a medium grind — not powder-fine, not chunky. A standard grinder on a couple of twists does the job.
