EHLE Silicone Cleaning Plug for Bongs

A silicone cleaning plug seals your bong's carb hole so cleaning solution stays inside the chamber instead of leaking out. The EHLE Silicone Cleaning Plug is a small, flexible stopper measuring 20mm across that fits carb holes from 12.5mm to 16.5mm — covering most standard water pipes without fuss. No more cupping your hand over the opening while isopropyl alcohol sloshes everywhere.

Pair this plug with EHLE glass bongs for a matched setup, or grab a bottle of bong cleaner to make the whole process quicker. A set of cleaning brushes rounds out the kit nicely — plug the hole, fill with cleaner, shake, brush, rinse. You can buy all of these items separately in the Azarius bong accessories category.

Why a Silicone Cleaning Plug Makes All the Difference

A silicone cleaning plug creates a compression seal that keeps cleaning solution locked inside your bong chamber, turning a messy two-person task into a quick solo job. Without plugging the carb hole, you pour in your cleaning solution, give it a shake, and half of it leaks straight out onto the table, your trousers, or worse — the carpet. We've watched it happen in the shop more times than we can count. Customers come back smelling of isopropyl and frustration.

This plug addresses that problem in about one second flat. The silicone is soft enough to compress into the hole and form a watertight seal, but firm enough that it won't pop out when you shake the piece. It weighs practically nothing — you'll barely notice it in a drawer — and because it's silicone, it won't scratch or chip glass. EHLE makes solid glassware, so it's no surprise their accessories are equally well thought out. According to the European Monitoring Centre for Drugs and Drug Addiction (EMCDDA), harm-reduction practices include keeping paraphernalia clean, and a proper seal during cleaning makes thorough maintenance far more likely.

The honest limitation? It only fits carb holes between 12.5mm and 16.5mm. If your bong has an unusually large or small carb, measure first. A 20mm plug won't seal a 20mm hole — it needs to be bigger than the opening to create that compression fit. For standard EHLE pieces and most mid-range bongs, though, you're sorted.

How to Use the EHLE Silicone Cleaning Plug

Using the plug takes under a minute: press it into the carb hole, add cleaning solution through the downstem, shake, and rinse. Here is the full step-by-step process.

  1. Empty your bong of old water completely. Stale bong water smells like a canal in August — don't let it sit.
  2. Press the silicone plug firmly into the carb hole. It should sit snug without needing force. If it slides in too easily, your carb hole is likely larger than 16.5mm.
  3. Block the mouthpiece with your palm or a second plug if you have one, then pour your cleaning solution into the downstem opening.
  4. Shake the bong vigorously for 30–60 seconds. The sealed carb hole means the liquid stays inside doing its job instead of decorating your kitchen.
  5. Remove the plug, pour out the dirty solution, and rinse the bong with warm water 2–3 times until the glass is clear.
  6. Clean the plug itself with warm water and a drop of washing-up liquid. Let it air dry. Avoid harsh chemical solvents directly on the silicone — soap and water keeps it in good shape for years.
