Buy Harvest and Curing Gear — The Full Workflow

Harvest gear is what separates a decent grow from a great one. You can grow the finest buds under the best light on earth, and then undo all of it with blunt scissors, a leaky jar, or a 220°C oven. The tools in this category handle four stages: trimming, curing, extraction, and inspection — and each stage has its own shortcut and its own way to ruin your batch.

What We Carry

  • Trimming scissors — the Bud Cutter Bonsai for detail work on small buds, the Leaf Cutter Pruning Shears for longer sessions with spring-loaded relief.
  • Curing jars and humidity control — German-made Weed Curing Jars in four sizes with proper airtight seals, plus Moisture Fighters sachets to hold humidity steady.
  • Kief collection — the Wooden Sifter Box for passive collection, the HashMaker Shake Me for freezer-shaken dry sift, the Pollinator P150 for motorised 150-micron sifting of up to 150g per run.
  • Ice water hash — Ice-O-Lator Travel for 25g rucksack runs, Ice-O-Lator Small for 200g batches in a 20L bucket, the Bubbleator B-Quick for 5–10 minute bubble hash, and the Ice Extraction Bag Kit from Pure Factory.
  • BHO extractors — the stainless steel Extractor BHO Roller in 15cm and 30cm, plus the all-glass EHLE-X-trakt with its fritted glass frit for the cleanest possible pull.
  • Pollen presses — the Black Leaf aluminium press in four sizes, the Pocket Pollen Press for hash coins.
  • Rosin prep — the Qnubu Aluminium Pre-Press Mould for 2x4 inch bags.
  • Microscopes — the Bud-O-Scope 30x–60x pocket loupe, the Carson MicroBrite Plus at 60–120x, and the Carson MicroFlip MP-250 with UV lighting and smartphone clip at 100–250x.
  • Odour control — ONA Block in five scents, D-ODR Mist in four.
  • Decarb and infusion — the POT by NOIDS Herb Cooker for temperature-controlled decarboxylation.
  • Homebrew crossover — Brewferm Crown Corks, Crown Capper Captain, muslin hop bags for anyone also bottling ales.

How to Choose Your Harvest Gear — Start Here

Beginner: You need three things before your first harvest. A pair of Bud Cutter Bonsai scissors (the narrow blade reaches between leaflets without crushing trichomes), four Weed Curing Jars in a size that matches your expected yield, and a Carson MicroBrite Plus to read trichome colour so you're not guessing harvest timing. That's it. Don't buy extractors before you've cured a jar properly.

Intermediate: Once you've got curing dialled, the next step is kief. Start with the Wooden Sifter Box — it collects passively while your buds dry. If you want more volume, the HashMaker Shake Me runs a 22-micron screen that outperforms most "dry sift kits" twice the price. Add a Black Leaf pollen press and you've got stackable tablets that keep for months.

Advanced: This is where it splits. Ice water hash? Buy the Ice-O-Lator Small in a 5 or 8-bag set and get the Bubbleator B-Quick if you want speed. BHO? The EHLE-X-trakt glass extractor is what we'd pick every time over steel — the sintered glass frit doesn't leave that metallic aftertaste that cheap steel mesh does. If you're pressing rosin, order the Qnubu pre-press mould to get uniform bars into your 2x4 bags.

Honest take: the Pollinator P150 is expensive and it's overkill for most home growers. If you're processing 150g a cycle, you already know you want it. If you're not, start with the Wooden Sifter Box and grow into it.

Curing — The Step Everyone Rushes

Curing is where most home growers fumble the finish. Dry your buds too fast and you lock chlorophyll into the smoke. Seal them in a leaky jar and terpenes escape within days. The German Weed Curing Jars in this category use extra-thick glass with a rubber sealing ring and galvanised wire bracket — we've had customers burp these for six months with no noticeable terpene loss. Pair them with Moisture Fighters sachets to hold RH around 58–62% without guesswork.

Give it two weeks minimum before you smoke from a cured jar. Four to eight weeks is where the magic actually happens — the grassy notes fade, terpenes come forward, and the burn gets smoother. Nothing you can buy will speed this up. The gear just keeps conditions stable while time does the work.

Frequently Asked Questions

When should I harvest based on trichome colour?

Most strains peak when trichomes shift from clear to milky white, with around 10–20% turning amber. Use the Carson MicroBrite Plus (60–120x) or the Carson MicroFlip MP-250 (100–250x) to read them accurately — a 10x loupe isn't enough to distinguish clear from milky reliably.

What's the difference between ice water hash and BHO?

Ice water hash (bubble hash) uses ice, water, and mesh bags to separate trichomes — no solvents, food-grade safe, and you get it with the Ice-O-Lator Small or Bubbleator B-Quick. BHO uses butane as a solvent to strip resin and produces a stronger concentrate, but needs proper ventilation and a clean extractor like the EHLE-X-trakt or the Roller Extractor.

How long should I cure my buds before smoking?

Two weeks minimum, four to eight weeks for full flavour development. Burp the jars daily for the first week, then every few days. The German Weed Curing Jars hold a proper airtight seal, and Moisture Fighters sachets keep humidity in the 58–62% sweet spot so you don't have to check a hygrometer every day.

Do I need a pollen press to store kief?

No, but pressed kief stores much better. Loose kief oxidises faster and loses potency over weeks; pressed tablets from a Black Leaf or Pocket Pollen Press stay stable for months in a cool, dark place. The pressed format also makes dosing predictable and crumbles cleanly into a joint or bowl.

How do I stop my grow room from smelling during harvest?

Harvest is peak odour. Get an ONA Block — the terpene-based neutraliser binds to odour molecules instead of masking them, and the Polar Crystal or Fresh Linen scents work in closets and small rooms. For immediate cleanup after a trim session, D-ODR Mist knocks the air clear in a few sprays.

What's the smallest ice water extraction setup you sell?

The Ice-O-Lator Travel — a two-bag 220/70 micron set from the Pollinator Company in Amsterdam. It processes up to 25g of dried material and fits in a rucksack. Step up to the Ice-O-Lator Small if you want to run 200g batches in a 20L bucket, available in 2 to 8-bag configurations.
