CBD capsules are pre-dosed softgels that deliver a fixed milligram amount of cannabidiol per swallow — no dropper, no hemp aftertaste, no guessing how many drops you held under your tongue. We carry six strengths from Cibdol, ranging from 8.33 mg to 66.6 mg per capsule, so you can buy the exact dose that fits your routine. Stocked and shipped from Amsterdam since 1999.

A CBD capsule is a gelatin softgel filled with CBD oil, pre-measured to the milligram. You swallow it like any supplement — the capsule dissolves in your stomach, the oil absorbs through your digestive tract, and you feel it roughly 45–90 minutes later. That's the trade-off versus CBD oil under the tongue: slower onset, but an exact dose every time and zero grassy flavour. If you've ever squinted at a dropper wondering whether that was four drops or five, capsules solve that problem.
Our full range of CBD softgels comes from Cibdol, a Swiss brand that uses CO₂ extraction and olive oil as the carrier. Every capsule in every strength contains the same golden-grade full-spectrum extract — CBD plus minor cannabinoids like CBG, CBN, CBC and CBDA (the acidic precursors and minor compounds that round out the plant's profile). The only thing that changes between the 5% and the 40% is how much oil is packed into each softgel.
Choosing by mg per capsule is simpler than choosing by percentage. Here's what each strength delivers per softgel and who tends to order it.
| Product | mg per capsule | Total CBD (60 caps) | Good for |
|---|---|---|---|
| CBD Softgels 5% | 8.33 mg | 500 mg | First-time buyers, sensitive users, daily micro-dose |
| CBD Softgels 10% | 16.67 mg | 1,000 mg | Standard daily dose — the one most people order twice |
| CBD Softgels 15% | 25 mg | 1,500 mg | Regular users wanting a broader cannabinoid mix |
| CBD Softgels 20% | 33.3 mg | 2,000 mg | Experienced users with a fixed daily routine |
| CBD Softgels 30% | 50 mg | 3,000 mg | High-dose users — one capsule replaces two or three lower ones |
| CBD Softgels 40% | 66.6 mg | 4,000 mg | Heavy users who already know their dose |
All six Cibdol softgels we stock are full-spectrum — meaning the extract retains the minor cannabinoids (CBG, CBC, CBN, CBDA) and plant terpenes alongside CBD. Isolate capsules, by contrast, contain only pure CBD with everything else stripped out. Full-spectrum is what most experienced buyers pick because of the entourage effect — the observation that cannabinoids and terpenes appear to work together (Russo, 2019). Isolate is worth considering only if you're subject to drug testing and want zero trace THC, or if you've reacted poorly to other cannabinoids in the past. For everyone else, full-spectrum is the default we'd pick.
Capsules and oil do the same job differently. Oil under the tongue absorbs through the mucous membrane in 15–30 minutes and lets you fine-tune the dose by the drop. Capsules skip the sublingual step entirely — they're swallowed, digested, and hit peak blood levels around 1–2 hours later. Research suggests oral CBD bioavailability sits roughly 6–19% depending on food intake (Millar et al., 2018), which is why taking capsules with a fatty meal helps absorption.
Order capsules if you want: a fixed dose you never have to measure, no hemp flavour, something you can throw in a bag and take at work without a dropper bottle. Order oil if you want: faster onset, flexible dosing, or you're still figuring out what dose works for you. Plenty of our regulars keep both — oil for flexibility, capsules for routine.
New to CBD? Start with the 5% softgels at 8.33 mg per capsule. Take one with breakfast for a week, see how you feel, then decide whether to stick, double up, or move up a strength. Most beginners land on the 10% (16.67 mg) after a fortnight — it's the strength we sell the most of, and for good reason.
If you've used CBD oil for a while and know your daily dose sits around 25–50 mg, shop the 15%, 20% or 30% capsules directly — pick the strength that matches your current intake in one or two capsules. The 40% (66.6 mg per capsule) is for heavy users who already know exactly what they're doing; don't buy it as your first CBD product. When in doubt, get the 10% — you can always take two.
Start with 8.33 mg or 16.67 mg per capsule — our 5% or 10% Cibdol softgels. Take one daily for a week before adjusting. Clinical studies have used oral CBD doses ranging from 20 mg to 1,500 mg daily depending on the application (Larsen & Shahinas, 2020), but daily wellness users typically settle in the 15–50 mg range.
All our Cibdol CBD softgels are full-spectrum, containing CBD alongside minor cannabinoids like CBG, CBC, CBN and CBDA plus hemp terpenes. We don't currently stock isolate capsules. Full-spectrum is the standard choice for most buyers because of the entourage effect between cannabinoids and terpenes.
Capsules take 45–90 minutes to kick in because they have to be digested first. CBD oil under the tongue absorbs in 15–30 minutes. Take capsules with a fatty meal to improve absorption — oral CBD bioavailability roughly doubles when taken with food (Birnbaum et al., 2019).
Yes — two 8.33 mg capsules equal one 16.67 mg dose. But if you're consistently taking three or more per day, it's cheaper per mg to order the next strength up. Check the total mg per box when comparing value.
Capsules give you a fixed dose every time, no hemp taste, and they're portable — easier to take at work or while travelling. Oil is better if you want faster onset or the flexibility to adjust your dose drop by drop. Many regulars keep both.
