Belladonna Feminized Seeds — Sativa Head, Indica Body
Belladonna feminized seeds are a Sativa-Indica hybrid from Paradise Seeds that delivers cerebral, energetic effects from a compact, fast-flowering plant. Bred in the late nineties and never altered since — because the genetics simply didn't need it. She finishes in 9-10 weeks, stays between 75 and 85 cm, and produces dense, frosty buds with 15-18% THC. If you want a Sativa-quality smoke without the 14-week flowering marathon and 2-metre height, this is the strain that actually delivers on that promise.
Pack size: 3 feminized seeds per pack. All three should produce flowering females — no time wasted sexing plants or pulling males.
Why Belladonna Feminized Seeds Stand Out
Most hybrids make you choose. You either get the cerebral, uplifting smoke of a Sativa and spend 12-14 weeks babysitting a lanky plant that wants to touch the ceiling, or you get a quick, compact Indica grow and a couch-lock stone. Belladonna feminized seeds genuinely split the difference. The effect leans Sativa — clear-headed, energetic, with a slightly trippy edge that keeps things interesting — while the plant itself grows like an Indica: short, stocky, and done flowering before you've had time to get bored.
Paradise Seeds released Belladonna at the end of the nineties, and the genetic has remained unchanged ever since. That's not laziness — it's confidence. When a strain consistently delivers the same compact structure, the same resin production, and the same cerebral effect across decades of grows, you leave it alone. We've seen growers come back to Belladonna feminized seeds year after year, and the feedback is remarkably consistent: she's reliable. You're not rolling the dice on phenotype variation or fighting a plant that can't decide if it wants to stretch or stay put.
At 75-85 cm, she's one of the best hybrids for small indoor spaces and SOG (Sea of Green) setups. You can pack multiple plants into a modest tent without height becoming a problem. The flowering window of 9-10 weeks is fast for a strain with this much Sativa influence — most Sativa-leaning hybrids push 11 weeks minimum. That shorter cycle means less electricity, less nutrient spend, and faster turnaround between harvests.
Belladonna Feminized Seeds — Flavour and Smoke
The smoke is fruity — not the artificial candy sweetness you get from some modern strains, but a genuine fruit-forward flavour with depth. There's a sweetness on the inhale that sits somewhere between ripe berries and tropical fruit, with a slightly floral note underneath that makes the exhale smooth rather than harsh. The buds themselves are visually striking: dense, coated in trichomes, and genuinely pretty to look at. This is a plant that photographs well, if that matters to you.
At 15-18% THC, Belladonna sits in a comfortable middle ground. Strong enough to be properly effective, moderate enough that you're not going to accidentally overdo it. For context, most modern dispensary strains push 20-28% THC, which sounds impressive until you realise that the extra potency often comes at the cost of flavour complexity and a narrower, more one-dimensional effect. Belladonna's 15-18% range gives you a full, layered experience without the paranoia ceiling that higher-THC strains can bring.
Growing Belladonna Feminized Seeds Indoors
Belladonna feminized seeds are built for indoor growing. The compact 75-85 cm height means she fits comfortably in tents as small as 60x60 cm, though an 80x80 gives you more room to work. In a SOG setup, you can run 9-16 plants per square metre and let the natural structure do the work — she doesn't need heavy training to produce an even canopy.
The 9-10 week flowering period is measured from the flip to 12/12. Some phenotypes will finish closer to 9 weeks, some push to 10 — check the trichomes rather than counting calendar days. You're looking for mostly milky trichomes with a few turning amber. Harvest at full milky for the most cerebral effect; let more amber develop if you want a slightly heavier finish.
The honest limitation: Belladonna's yield is decent but not record-breaking. Paradise Seeds lists around 450g/m² indoors, which is solid for a plant this compact and this fast, but if you're chasing maximum grams-per-watt above all else, a pure Indica like Dutch Passion Critical Orange Punch will outproduce her. What Belladonna trades in raw yield, she makes up for in smoke quality and effect. That's the tradeoff, and we think it's worth it.

Complete your setup: If you're running Belladonna feminized seeds in a SOG, a proper grow tent makes all the difference. Pair with a Dark Box 80x80 or similar compact tent and a carbon filter — she's not the loudest strain, but any flowering cannabis will make itself known without proper extraction. For nutrients, a straightforward bloom feed like BioBizz Bio-Bloom covers the 9-10 week flowering window without overcomplicating things.
Belladonna vs Other Compact Sativa Hybrids
The closest comparison in the Paradise Seeds catalogue is Nebula, which shares the Sativa-leaning effect but runs taller and takes a week or two longer. Outside the Paradise range, Royal Queen Seeds Royal Moby offers a more potent Sativa effect (up to 21% THC) but stretches well past 100 cm and needs more aggressive training to keep manageable indoors. If you want the cerebral effect in a plant that stays under 85 cm without LST or topping, Belladonna feminized seeds are hard to beat.
| Strain | Height | Flowering | THC | Best For |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Belladonna (Paradise Seeds) | 75-85 cm | 9-10 weeks | 15-18% | Small tents, SOG, cerebral effect |
| Nebula (Paradise Seeds) | 90-120 cm | 9-11 weeks | 16-20% | Medium tents, Sativa lovers with more space |
| Royal Moby (RQS) | 100-140 cm | 9-10 weeks | 18-21% | Larger setups, maximum potency |
How to Grow Belladonna Feminized Seeds
- Germination: Place seeds between damp paper towels on a plate, cover with a second plate, and keep at 22-25°C. Taproots typically appear within 24-72 hours. Transfer to small pots (0.5L) once the taproot is 1-2 cm long.
- Vegetative stage: Run 18/6 light cycle. Belladonna stays compact naturally, so 3-4 weeks of veg is usually enough before flipping. In a SOG setup, you can flip even earlier — 2 weeks of veg is sufficient when running 9-16 plants per square metre.
- Flip to flower: Switch to 12/12 light cycle. Expect a modest stretch of 20-30% during the first two weeks of flowering — nothing dramatic for a Sativa hybrid. She'll settle at 75-85 cm.
- Flowering (weeks 1-6): Bud sites develop quickly. Feed a standard bloom nutrient at moderate strength — Belladonna isn't a heavy feeder. Keep humidity below 55% once buds start to fatten.
- Late flowering (weeks 7-10): Trichome production ramps up noticeably. Start checking trichome colour from week 8. Flush with plain water for the final 7-10 days before harvest for a cleaner, smoother smoke.
- Harvest and dry: Cut at the base, hang whole plants or individual branches in a dark room at 18-20°C and 55-60% humidity. Dry slowly over 7-10 days, then cure in glass jars for at least 2 weeks. The fruity flavour develops significantly during curing — don't rush this step.
