Hose Marrakech XL — The Extra-Long Shisha Hose Built for Group Sessions

The Hose Marrakech XL is a 220cm shisha hose by El Badia that lets you pass the mouthpiece around a full circle of friends without anyone having to stand up, lean awkwardly, or drag the hookah across the table. At over two metres long, it's one of the best shisha hoses for group smoking — long enough to reach every corner of the sofa, the balcony chair, or the picnic blanket.

220cm extra-long hose No metal parts — fully washable 5 colour options El Badia Marrakech 3.0 series Ergonomic grip

Pick Your Colour

The Hose Marrakech XL comes in five variants — all identical in length, material, and connector size. It's purely an aesthetic choice, so match it to your hookah or your living room:

VariantSKU
Badia BlueHS1739
Badia WhiteHS1741
Badia RedHS1738
Badia BlackHS1737
Badia CarbonHS1740

The Carbon finish has a slightly textured, matte look — the rest are smooth. Black and Carbon are the most forgiving if you're worried about staining over time. White looks sharp out of the box but shows residue faster, so you'll want to rinse it more often.

Why You Actually Want a 220cm Shisha Hose

Standard shisha hoses run about 150-170cm. That's fine if you're smoking alone or sitting right next to the hookah. The moment you've got 3 or 4 people around a table, though, a short hose turns into a logistical headache. Someone has to hold the hookah steady while the person across the table stretches. The hookah gets dragged to the edge. Water spills. We've seen it happen more times than we can count.

The extra 50-70cm on the Marrakech XL sounds modest on paper, but in practice it's the difference between a relaxed pass and an awkward reach. At 220cm, you can comfortably hand the mouthpiece to someone two seats away. Nobody moves, the hookah stays planted, and the session flows the way it should. It's one of those upgrades that seems small until you've used it — then you can't go back.

The other thing worth mentioning: no metal parts inside the hose. Older shisha hoses often had a metal coil running through the tubing for structure. The problem is that coil rusts over time, especially if you don't dry the hose properly. Rust flakes end up in your smoke, the draw gets restricted, and the whole thing starts tasting off after a few months. El Badia skipped the metal entirely on the Marrakech 3.0 series, which means you can rinse the hose with warm water after every session without worrying about corrosion. Hygiene stays solid, the draw stays open, and the hose lasts longer.

Honest Limitations — What to Watch Out For

A 220cm hose is brilliant for groups, but if you mostly smoke solo at a desk, it's more hose than you need. You'll end up coiling the excess, which can kink the tubing over time if you're not careful. For solo sessions, a standard-length hose is more practical — less tubing to manage, less weight hanging off the hookah port.

The mouthpiece is comfortable and the grip feels solid in the hand — there's a slight taper that sits naturally between your fingers. But the connector end is a standard friction fit, not a click-lock. That means it can slip out of the hookah port if someone gives the hose a proper tug. Just seat it firmly before you start and you're fine, but it's worth knowing.

How to Use the Hose Marrakech XL

  1. Remove the hose from its packaging and give it an initial rinse with warm water. Run water through the full 220cm length to flush out any manufacturing dust. No soap — just water.
  2. Let the hose dry completely before first use. Hang it over a door or shower rail so both ends drain. This takes about 2-3 hours.
  3. Insert the connector end firmly into your hookah's hose port. Push it in with a slight twist until it sits snug. There's no click — it's a friction fit, so make sure it's seated properly.
  4. Pack your bowl, light your charcoal, and draw through the mouthpiece as normal. The 220cm length adds minimal draw resistance — you shouldn't notice a difference from a standard hose.
  5. After your session, detach the hose and rinse it again with warm water. Blow through it a few times to clear residual moisture, then hang to dry. This keeps the interior clean and prevents ghost flavours carrying over to your next session.
  6. Store the hose loosely coiled — don't fold it sharply or stuff it into a tight space. Gentle curves keep the tubing in good shape for longer.
