Super AK Cannabis Seeds by Kannabia

Super AK is a sativa-dominant feminised cannabis seed from Kannabia, bred from a three-way cross of California Sativa, Afgana, and AK-47. The result is a fast-flowering, high-THC plant that leans heavily into cerebral territory — the kind of strain you grow when you want a daytime smoke with genuine kick and a terpene profile that actually tastes like something. Five seeds per pack.

Super AK Genetics and Lineage

Super AK draws from three parent strains that each bring something distinct to the table. California Sativa provides the soaring, head-focused effect and stretch. Afgana adds resin production and structural backbone. AK-47 — one of the most awarded hybrids of the past three decades — ties it together with vigour, potency, and that signature spicy edge. The combination produces a plant that behaves like a sativa in effect but doesn't make you wait until November to chop it down.

Kannabia selected this cross specifically for THC content and cerebral character. If you've grown AK-47 crosses before, you'll recognise the growth pattern — moderate stretch, decent branching, resinous flowers that stack well in the final weeks. The Afgana genetics keep the flowering time shorter than you'd expect from something this sativa-leaning.

Flavour and Terpene Profile of Super AK Seeds

The terpene profile on Super AK is genuinely interesting — sour and citrus up front, sweet in the middle, with a spicy finish that lingers. It's not a one-note strain. When you crack a cured bud, you get that sharp citrus peel smell first, then something warmer and more complex underneath. Vaped at lower temperatures (around 180-190°C), the citrus notes come through cleanest. Push it higher and the spice takes over.

Kannabia notes that this flavour range translates well into edibles — particularly sweet ones like candies and fruit-based chocolates. That sour-citrus-spice combination works better in a kitchen context than most strains, which tend to just taste like... well, cannabis butter. If you're into making extracts, the resin production from the Afgana side means you're not wasting half your harvest to get a decent yield.

Growing Super AK: What to Expect

This is one of those strains we'd point newer growers towards — not because it's boring, but because it's forgiving. Super AK has genuinely high resistance to both mould and pests, which matters enormously if you're growing outdoors in soil for the first time. Your first outdoor grow will attract bugs. That's not a maybe. A strain that shrugs off spider mites and powdery mildew gives you one less thing to panic about.

Indoor growers can expect impressive yields — Kannabia rates the indoor production capability highly when grown in tents or dedicated grow rooms. The fast bloom period means you're not running lights for an extra 3-4 weeks compared to pure sativa varieties, which saves electricity and keeps your schedule tight. Outdoors, she'll do well in most European climates with decent summer sun, finishing before the autumn rains become a problem in northern regions.

The one thing to watch: sativa-dominant plants stretch. Super AK will gain height in the first two weeks of flower, so if you're working in a shorter tent (120cm or under), flip early or train her horizontally. LST or a simple ScrOG net will keep the canopy even and maximise light penetration across all bud sites.

Growing Super AK indoors? Pair these seeds with an 80x80 grow tent and a carbon filter setup to manage that citrus-spice aroma during flower. If you're starting from scratch, a complete grow kit saves you the headache of matching components — and the extraction fan keeps airflow moving through that sativa canopy where it's needed most.

Why Super AK Stands Out From Other AK-47 Crosses

There are dozens of AK-47 descendants on the market. Most lean indica-heavy or lose the cerebral character that made the original AK-47 famous in the first place. Super AK keeps that head-focused effect front and centre — Kannabia specifically selected for it. The California Sativa parent pulls the effect profile firmly into daytime territory, while the Afgana genetics stop the flowering time from ballooning out to 12+ weeks like some sativa-dominant strains demand.

Compared to something like a pure AK-47, Super AK offers more complexity in the terpene department. The sour-citrus-spice layering gives it a character that straight AK crosses often lack — they tend to be earthy and one-dimensional by comparison. If you've grown standard AK-47 and found the flavour a bit flat, this is worth trying.

The honest limitation: Kannabia doesn't publish exact THC percentages for Super AK, just "high." That's typical for this seed bank, but it means you're relying on the genetic reputation rather than lab numbers. From what we've seen with this lineage, expect somewhere in the upper range — the AK-47 and California Sativa genetics both push potency — but your actual results depend on your growing environment, nutrients, and curing process.

How to Grow Super AK Seeds

  1. Germinate your feminised Super AK seeds using the paper towel method or directly in a starter plug. Keep temperatures between 22-26°C and maintain humidity around 70% until taproots appear (typically 24-72 hours).
  2. Transplant seedlings into their first pot once the taproot is 1-2cm long. Use a light, airy soil mix — Super AK's vigorous root system benefits from good drainage from day one.
  3. During vegetative growth, keep your light cycle at 18/6. Super AK will stretch, so begin low-stress training early if you're working in a tent under 150cm tall. Bend and tie main stems to create an even canopy.
  4. Switch to 12/12 to trigger flowering. Expect noticeable stretch in the first 2 weeks of flower — account for this when deciding when to flip. Indoor growers in shorter spaces should flip earlier than they think.
  5. During flower, reduce humidity to 45-50% to take advantage of Super AK's natural mould resistance without tempting fate. Increase airflow around the canopy as buds fatten.
  6. Harvest when trichomes shift from clear to milky-white. For the cerebral, heady effect Super AK is known for, harvest on the earlier side — waiting for amber trichomes will push the effect towards sedation.
  7. Dry in a dark room at 18-20°C with 55-60% humidity for 10-14 days, then cure in glass jars for a minimum of 2 weeks. The sour-citrus terpenes develop noticeably during a proper cure — rushing this step costs you flavour.
