Tiramisu Cannabis Seeds by Cali Connection

Tiramisu is a feminized photoperiod cannabis seed from Cali Connection's Gold Line — a Wedding Cake x Gelato 45 cross that produces dense, purple-tinted buds with a buttery vanilla-chocolate flavour profile. Part of the wave of dessert genetics coming out of California, this one actually lives up to the name. We've seen a lot of "tastes like cake" claims over the years; Tiramisu is one of the few where the smooth, creamy hash finish genuinely lingers after exhale.

Genetics and Lineage of Tiramisu Seeds

Both parents of Tiramisu carry serious pedigree. Wedding Cake (Triangle Kush x Animal Mints) brings structure, density, and that unmistakable sweet dough aroma. Gelato 45 (Sunset Sherbet x Thin Mint GSC) adds the creamy smoothness and the colour — those deep mauve and purple tones that develop as the plant matures. The combination produces what Cali Connection calls "hybrid vigour personified," and having seen the results, that's not just marketing talk.

This is a true hybrid cross. You get the bushy, branching growth pattern of an indica-leaning structure with enough sativa influence to keep the internodal spacing manageable. When you top her, she bushes out considerably — filling a canopy evenly rather than shooting one dominant cola skyward. That makes her a strong candidate for SOG or SCROG setups where you want an even light distribution across the grow space.

Flavour Profile: Vanilla, Chocolate, and Creamy Hash

The flavour is where Tiramisu earns its name. The terpene profile delivers soft vanilla and chocolate on the inhale — not sharp or artificial, but rounded and buttery. On the exhale, creamy hash notes come through, and the sweet aftertaste sits on your palate long after you've finished. It's the kind of smoke that makes you pause and actually pay attention to what you're tasting.

The fragrance during late flowering is equally impressive. As those tightly packed, swollen calyxes develop their generous trichome coverage, the grow room fills with a rich, dessert-like sweetness. If you're running a carbon filter (and you should be), make sure it's properly rated for your space — this one is loud in the nose department.

Growing Tiramisu: Indoor and Outdoor Performance

Tiramisu grows with purpose, and that's not a throwaway line. She's responsive to training, easy to clone, and finishes in a predictable 63-67 day flowering window indoors. Under lights, expect 200-280g/m2 — solid for a strain that prioritises resin production and density over sheer bulk. She's not going to break yield records, but what she does produce is coated in fragrant trichomes from top to bottom.

The honest limitation here: that 200g/m2 floor means she needs good light and proper nutrition to hit the upper range. If you're running a budget setup with a single LED panel, you'll likely land closer to the lower end. Growers with dialled-in environments — proper VPD, adequate CO2, and quality lighting — will push toward that 280g/m2 ceiling without much fuss.

Outdoors, she performs well in warm, Mediterranean-style climates. The dense bud structure means you'll want to watch humidity levels in late flowering to avoid any moisture getting trapped in those tight calyxes. Good airflow is your friend.

Why Tiramisu Deserves a Spot in Your Garden

We've carried Cali Connection seeds since the early days, and their Gold Line represents their best breeding work. Tiramisu isn't just another dessert-named strain riding the hype — the genetics behind it are proven performers. Wedding Cake has dominated dispensary shelves in the US for years, and Gelato 45 is one of the more refined Gelato phenotypes available. Crossing those two was always going to produce something worth growing.

What sets Tiramisu apart from similar dessert crosses — say, a Gelato 33 or a standard Wedding Cake S1 — is the specific combination of that creamy hash finish with the visual appeal of the purple-mauve foliage. If you're the kind of grower who wants something that looks as good as it smells and smokes, this delivers on all three fronts. The ease of cloning is a genuine bonus too: find a keeper phenotype and you can run it indefinitely without buying more seeds.

The one thing to be aware of: dense buds and generous trichome production mean she drinks nutrients. She's not a light feeder. Keep your calcium and magnesium levels up during mid-flower, and don't skimp on phosphorus and potassium in the final weeks. Underfeed her and you'll get airy popcorn buds instead of the rock-hard nuggets she's capable of producing.

How to Grow Tiramisu Feminized Seeds

  1. Germinate seeds using the paper towel method or directly in a moist starter plug. Tiramisu seeds typically crack within 24-72 hours at around 22-25 degrees Celsius.
  2. Transplant seedlings into their final containers once the first set of true leaves appears. A 10-15 litre pot works well for indoor grows; larger containers for outdoor.
  3. Maintain 18/6 light cycle during vegetative growth. Top the main stem once the plant has 5-6 nodes — she responds well and will bush out with multiple even colas.
  4. Switch to 12/12 to trigger flowering. Expect the first pistils within 7-10 days of the flip.
  5. Monitor humidity closely from week 5 of flower onward. Keep relative humidity below 50% to protect those dense bud sites from mould. Good airflow between the branches is critical.
  6. Watch for the leaves turning mauve and purple as she matures — this is normal and a sign of the Gelato 45 genetics expressing. Not a deficiency.
  7. Harvest between day 63-67 of flowering, checking trichome colour with a loupe. Milky trichomes with 10-20% amber is the sweet spot for this cultivar.
  8. Dry slowly in a dark room at 15-18 degrees Celsius and 55-60% humidity for 10-14 days, then cure in glass jars for at least 2 weeks. The vanilla and chocolate notes develop significantly during a proper cure.
