SLX 2.5 Non-Stick Grinder — The Last Grinder You'll Buy
The SLX 2.5 non-stick grinder is a 4-part herb grinder built from aerospace-grade 7075 T6 aluminium and coated inside and out with a proprietary ceramic non-stick layer. Where most grinders gum up within weeks and become a chore to twist, the SLX 2.5 stays smooth from day one — and stays that way. That's not marketing; that's just what happens when you coat every surface in ceramic instead of leaving bare aluminium to collect resin.
Choose Your Colour
The SLX 2.5 comes in one size — 62mm diameter, which is the sweet spot for daily use. Not so small you're reloading constantly, not so wide it won't fit in a jacket pocket. All seven colours use the same aerospace aluminium and ceramic coating, so pick whichever catches your eye:
| Colour | SKU |
|---|---|
| Silver | HS2053 |
| Charcoal | HS0316 |
| Yellow Gold | HS0163 |
| Purple Haze | HS0162 |
| Leaf Green | HS0161 |
| Champagne Gold | HS0182 |
| Black | HS0315 |
The Charcoal and Black are the most understated. The Purple Haze and Leaf Green are the ones that get comments. We'd pick Charcoal — it hides fingerprints better than the polished finishes.

Complete your setup: pair the SLX 2.5 non-stick grinder with a storage jar to keep your ground herb fresh between sessions. A pollen press is also worth grabbing if you collect from the kief catcher regularly — you'll get surprisingly tidy discs from what the SLX's micro-precision screen filters through.
Why You Actually Need a Non-Stick Grinder
Here's the thing nobody tells you about cheap grinders: they work fine for about three weeks. Then the threads start to stick. You're twisting harder, the teeth are clogged with compressed plant material, and half of what you put in stays glued to the walls. You end up scraping it out with a coin or a toothpick, losing material and patience in equal measure. We've seen customers bring in grinders that are essentially welded shut from resin buildup — and these were grinders they'd bought less than six months earlier.
The SLX 2.5 non-stick grinder sidesteps that entire cycle. The ceramic coating means resin doesn't bond to the surface. Nothing sticks to the walls, nothing clogs the teeth, and the threads stay smooth. The grinder still twists with one hand. That alone is worth the upgrade from a standard aluminium grinder.
The second problem the SLX 2.5 solves is durability. Most grinders use 6000-series aluminium — it's fine for light use, but the teeth bend over time, especially with denser, stickier herbs. SLX uses 7075 T6 aluminium, which is the same grade used in aircraft frames and high-stress structural components. It's significantly harder than 6000-series alloy. Each tooth has 4 precision-cut edges rather than the usual 2, which means a more consistent grind with less effort. You won't be wrestling with it. The honest limitation? It's heavier than a basic grinder. You can feel the density when you pick it up — solid, almost weighty. That's the trade-off for aerospace-grade metal, and most people consider it a feature rather than a drawback. It feels like a tool, not a toy.
What Makes the SLX 2.5 Different from Other Grinders
We carry a range of grinders at different price points. A basic 4-part aluminium grinder does the job and costs a fraction of the SLX 2.5. So why would you spend more? Three reasons, and they're all practical rather than cosmetic.
First, the non-stick ceramic coating. This isn't a marketing gimmick. Standard aluminium oxidises and creates a rough surface that resin bonds to almost immediately. The SLX 2.5's ceramic layer is chemically inert — resin can't grip it. Your herbs fall through cleanly, your kief actually reaches the catcher instead of sticking to the screen frame, and the threads never seize. Over a year of use, you'll recover more material from each session than you would with an uncoated grinder. It adds up.
Second, the screen design. Most grinder screens are press-fitted and threaded. The SLX 2.5's screen snaps in and out without threads — just lift it. The mesh itself is micro-precision manufactured steel, finer than what you'll find in most grinders. Only pollen passes through, so you get clean kief with zero plant matter contamination. No waste.
Third, the neodymium magnets. Standard grinder magnets are weak enough that a bump can pop the lid off and scatter your herbs. Rare Earth Neodymium magnets are dramatically stronger — the lid snaps shut and stays shut. It also keeps moisture and scent sealed inside, which matters if you're carrying it.

| Toxicity | Varies — some use PTFE coatings | 100% non-toxic, FDA approved, no PTFE |
| Teeth | 2 cutting edges per tooth | 4 precision-cut edges per tooth |
| Screen | Threaded, standard mesh | Threadless snap-lift, micro-precision steel mesh |
| Magnet | Standard ferrite | Rare Earth Neodymium |

How to Use the SLX 2.5 Non-Stick Grinder
- Remove the lid (top section) by pulling it straight up — the neodymium magnet holds firmly, so give it a deliberate tug rather than trying to twist it off.
- Break your herbs into rough pieces and place them between the grinding teeth. Don't overfill — leave enough space for the material to move around. About 60–70% full is the sweet spot for a consistent grind.
- Replace the lid and twist. You'll notice the SLX 2.5 requires less force than you're used to. The 4-edge teeth and non-stick coating do the work. Five to ten rotations is usually enough.
- Unscrew the grinding chamber from the screen section to access your ground herb. The non-stick coating means everything falls freely — no tapping or scraping needed.
- To collect pollen, simply unscrew the bottom catcher. The micro-precision steel mesh filters only pollen through, so what you find in the catcher is clean and ready to use.
- To clean the screen (if you ever feel the need), snap-lift it out — no threading to fight with. A quick brush is all it takes, though with the ceramic coating, buildup is virtually non-existent.
