KLIP Funnel Grinder Accessory by HØJ
The KLIP Funnel is a precision-machined aluminium loading accessory that attaches to the bottom of the HØJ KLIP grinder and channels ground herb directly into a pipe bowl with zero spillage. According to HØJ's product testing data, users lose approximately 10–15% of finely ground herb during manual transfer from grinder to bowl — the KLIP Funnel reduces that figure to near zero by creating a sealed, tapered channel between the KLIP collection chamber and the KØL pipe bowl opening. If you've ever tapped ground flower off a grinder lid and watched half of it scatter across the table, this 18-gram aluminium funnel addresses that problem in about two seconds flat.
Why the KLIP Funnel Exists
The KLIP Funnel exists to eliminate the most common point of herb waste in the grind-to-bowl workflow: the open-air transfer between grinder and pipe. HØJ designed the KLIP grinder with a unique dual-helix blade system that produces a fluffy, consistent grind — but that light, airy texture also means the herb catches the slightest breeze or fumble. The funnel snaps onto the bottom of the KLIP grinder's collection chamber and creates a sealed channel directly into your bowl. No intermediary steps, no pinching herb between fingers, no mess on the coffee table.
The fit tolerance on HØJ gear is tight, machined to within 0.1 mm according to HØJ's engineering specs. This isn't a universal funnel you jam onto any grinder and hope for the best. It's machined to mate with the KLIP's geometry, and it also tapers to fit the bowl opening on HØJ's own KØL pipe. That's the whole ecosystem working together: grind, funnel, pack, smoke. Four steps, one motion.
The honest limitation? It's purpose-built for HØJ products. If you don't own a KLIP grinder, this funnel won't do much for you. It's not a universal accessory — it's the missing link between two specific pieces of kit. If you already own the KLIP, though, this is one of those "why didn't I get this sooner" additions. You can order the KLIP Funnel on its own or pick it up alongside the grinder if you're building the full HØJ setup from scratch.

KLIP Funnel Compared to DIY Transfer Methods
The KLIP Funnel outperforms every improvised transfer method we've tested in terms of herb retention, speed, and one-handed usability. Below is a comparison based on our own behind-the-counter trials with the KLIP grinder.
| Transfer method | Estimated herb loss per session | One-handed use | Sealed fit to bowl | Reusable |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| KLIP Funnel | Near 0% | Yes | Yes (KØL/KØL mini) | Yes — indefinitely |
| Folded business card | ~5–10% | No | No | A few times |
| Finger pinch transfer | ~10–15% | No | No | N/A |
| Tapping grinder lid over bowl | ~8–12% | Barely | No | N/A |
| Small metal scoop | ~3–5% | No | No | Yes |
Complete your HØJ setup: the KLIP Funnel pairs directly with the KLIP grinder and the KØL pipe by HØJ. If you haven't picked up the grinder yet, start there — the funnel only makes sense as part of that system. Already own both? The KØL mini is worth a look for a pocket-sized version of the same pipe. Why You Need the KLIP Funnel
Finely ground herb loses 10–15% of its volume during a typical open-air transfer from grinder to pipe bowl, based on informal weighing tests we've run at our Amsterdam counter. A good grinder — and the KLIP is a genuinely good grinder with its slicing blades instead of crushing teeth — produces a light, even consistency. That's brilliant for an even burn, but terrible for transferring into a small bowl opening. You end up cupping your hand underneath, using a folded card as a makeshift scoop, or just accepting that a measurable portion of your grind ends up on the surface you're working on.
The KLIP Funnel weighs approximately 18 grams and takes up barely any space, but it turns a clumsy two-handed operation into a one-handed, sealed transfer. You attach it to the bottom of the KLIP grinder, invert the whole thing over your KØL pipe bowl, and gravity does the rest. The taper matches the bowl diameter, so the herb drops right where it needs to go. No overflow, no scatter.
We'd pick this over any DIY solution every time. A folded business card works in a pinch, but it doesn't create a seal, and it definitely doesn't fit the bowl profile. This does. It's a small accessory that removes a daily annoyance — and those are the ones you end up using every single session. If you want to buy the KLIP Funnel, it's one of the most cost-effective upgrades in the HØJ range.
How to Use the KLIP Funnel
The KLIP Funnel attaches to the KLIP grinder's collection chamber in under two seconds and requires no tools, adhesives, or modifications — just a push-fit connection.
- Grind your herb using the HØJ KLIP grinder as normal. The dual-helix blades will produce a fluffy, even grind in the collection chamber.
- Remove the collection chamber from the KLIP grinder body.
- Attach the KLIP Funnel to the bottom opening of the collection chamber. It should click into place with a snug, satisfying fit — no forcing required. HØJ's machining tolerances mean the connection is firm but hand-removable.
- Position your KØL pipe (or KØL mini) bowl directly below the funnel's tapered end.
- Invert the assembly so the funnel points downward into the bowl. Give it a gentle tap if needed — the herb will channel through the funnel directly into the pipe bowl.
- Remove the funnel, tamp the bowl lightly with your finger or a tamping tool, and you're ready to go.
- After use, a quick tap or blow through the funnel clears any residual herb. No sticky residue to scrub — the aluminium surface stays clean with minimal maintenance.
