RAW Rolling Tips — Hemp Filter Tips for a Cleaner Smoke

RAW Rolling Tips are unbleached, chemical-free filter tips made from natural hemp fibre. They slot into the end of your joint to give it structure, keep herb out of your mouth, and let you smoke right down to the last bit without burning your fingers. One booklet, 50 tips — enough to keep you rolling for weeks.

50 tips per booklet Natural hemp fibre Unbleached and chlorine-free No trees harmed Vegan and GMO-free

Why RAW Rolling Tips Belong in Your Kit

Rolling without a tip is like building a house without a foundation — it sort of works, but everything's a bit wobbly. A proper filter tip gives your joint a solid base to roll around, keeps the end open for airflow, and stops soggy bits of herb from hitting your tongue. That last point alone makes tips worth it.

We've sold RAW products since they first landed in Amsterdam, and the rolling tips are one of those small things that make a genuine difference. The card stock is thick enough to hold its shape once you fold it, but thin enough that it doesn't feel like you've jammed a cardboard tube in the end of your joint. You can feel the texture is slightly rougher than bleached alternatives — that's the unprocessed hemp doing its thing. No chlorine, no dyes, no chemical processing. Just plant fibre, pressed into a booklet.

The honest limitation? These are flat tips, not pre-rolled. If you've never folded a roach before, there's a small learning curve — maybe your first two or three will look a bit rough. But that's part of the craft, and you'll have 47 more to practise with.

How RAW Rolling Tips Compare to Torn-Up Card

People have been doing it for decades. But there's a reason purpose-made rolling tips exist.

Feature RAW Rolling Tips Random cardboard
Material Natural hemp fibre, unbleached Unknown — could contain inks, dyes, coatings
Size consistency Uniform 60mm x 18mm strips Whatever you tear off
Chemical treatment None — chlorine-free Often bleached, sometimes glossy-coated
Taste Neutral — no paper flavour Can taste of ink or coating when heated
Convenience 50 pre-cut strips, pocket-sized booklet Requires scissors or tearing

According to a study on the elemental composition of commercially available cannabis accessories, the materials used in rolling tips can vary significantly in their chemical makeup, with whole-unit analysis revealing trace elements from inks and coatings on non-purpose-made card (PMC11064008). That's a solid reason to use tips actually designed for the job.

How to Use RAW Rolling Tips

  1. Tear a single strip from the booklet along the perforated edge. Each strip is pre-cut to the right width — no trimming needed.
  2. Make 2-3 small accordion folds (an "M" or "W" shape) at one end of the strip. This creates the filter structure that blocks herb from passing through.
  3. Roll the remaining flat section of the strip tightly around the folded part. The natural hemp fibre grips itself, so it holds its shape without glue.
  4. Place the finished tip at one end of your rolling paper, add your herb, and roll as normal. The tip acts as a mouthpiece and gives the paper something solid to wrap around.
  5. Smoke the entire joint down to the tip without waste or burnt fingers. When you're done, the tip is the only thing left.
