RAW Classic Cone Loader
The RAW Classic Cone Loader is a simple two-piece filling tool that takes the faff out of packing pre-rolled cones. Instead of pinching, tapping, and spilling half your blend across the table, you get a funnel and a packer that do the job in seconds. It measures 11 cm long by 5.5 cm wide — small enough to toss in a drawer or travel pouch, sturdy enough to use daily.

Why You Actually Need a Cone Loader
The routine is always the same: pinch a bit of blend, funnel it in with your fingers, tap the cone on the table, repeat four or five times, then try to pack it down with a pen or a chopstick. Half the blend ends up on the table. The cone ends up either too loose — burning unevenly and canoeing down one side — or too tight, barely drawing at all.
The RAW Classic Cone Loader skips all of that. The funnel sits snugly over the cone opening, so you load your blend in one go without spillage. The packer — a flat-tipped stick that fits inside the funnel — lets you compress evenly from the top down. The result is a consistently packed cone every time, and the whole process takes about 15 seconds instead of 2 minutes of fiddling.
One honest limitation: this loader works best with standard-sized cones (King Size, 1¼). If you're using the massive RAW Challenge Cones or very slim cones, the funnel opening won't match up. For everyday cone sizes, though, it's the best cheap tool for the job.
How the RAW Cone Loader Feels in Hand
It's lightweight — almost surprisingly so. The plastic is smooth but not slippery, and the funnel has a slight taper that guides material downward without clogging. The packer has a satisfying firmness when you press down; you can feel the blend compressing evenly. There's no flex or wobble. For something that costs less than a coffee, the build quality is better than the generic cone stuffers you see floating around. RAW clearly designed this to match the dimensions of their own cones, and that precision shows.
How to Use the RAW Classic Cone Loader
- Take a pre-rolled cone and hold it upright, or place it in a cone holder or stand if you have one.
- Insert the narrow end of the RAW funnel into the open end of the cone. It should sit snugly without forcing.
- Grind your smoking blend to a medium consistency — not dust-fine, not chunky. A grinder with a standard tooth pattern works well here.
- Pour the ground blend into the wide end of the funnel. Tap the side gently to help it settle downward into the cone.
- Insert the packer stick into the funnel and press down firmly but evenly. You want the blend compressed enough to hold its shape but not so tight that airflow is blocked.
- Remove the funnel, twist the tip of the cone closed if desired, and you're done. The whole process takes 10–15 seconds once you've got the rhythm.
RAW Cone Loader vs. Packing by Hand
| Method | Time per cone | Consistency | Spillage |
|---|---|---|---|
| Hand packing (fingers + pen) | 1–2 minutes | Varies — often loose or uneven | Moderate to high |
| RAW Classic Cone Loader | 10–15 seconds | Even compression every time | Minimal — funnel catches stray material |
The difference is most obvious when you're loading more than one cone. Packing 5 cones by hand can take 10 minutes and leave a mess. With the loader, you'll have all 5 done in under 2 minutes with a clean surface.
