Cyclones Clear Pre-Rolled Transparent Cones

Cyclones Clear are pre-rolled translucent cones made from cotton mallow — a plant-based cellulose material that burns smooth, slow, and almost tasteless. Manufactured in the Philippines, each cone comes individually sealed in a see-through protective tube, ready to fill and smoke without any rolling required. If you've ever fumbled with papers at the worst possible moment, these exist to solve that problem entirely.

Why Cyclones Clear Cones Stand Out

Most pre-rolled cones are made from standard wood pulp or hemp paper. Cyclones Clear take a different route — cotton mallow produces a translucent, almost glass-like wrap that lets you see exactly what you've packed inside. It's not just for show, either. The material burns noticeably cleaner than bleached wood pulp papers, with minimal ash and virtually no paper taste interfering with your smoke. You taste what you packed, not what you rolled it in.

The texture is slightly slick between your fingers — closer to cellophane than traditional paper, but it doesn't crinkle or crack. It holds its cone shape well, which matters when you're packing from the wide end down. The tube packaging is a genuine bonus: it stops the cone getting crushed in your pocket, bag, or drawer. We've seen too many people fish a flattened paper cone out of a jacket pocket and try to reshape it. That doesn't happen with these.

One honest limitation: because the material is stiffer than regular rolling paper, Cyclones Clear don't pinch or twist at the tip as easily as a hand-rolled joint. You'll want to use a small piece of card or the included tip (if present) to close off the narrow end properly. It's a minor thing, but worth knowing before your first fill.

Complete your session setup with a decent grinder — evenly ground material packs better in a cone than hand-torn chunks. A RAW rolling tray catches what falls out the wide end while you're filling. Both make the process faster and less wasteful.

Why Pre-Rolled Cones Beat Rolling by Hand

Rolling a proper cone by hand takes practice. Months of it, if we're being realistic. And even experienced rollers have off days — too loose, too tight, canoe burns, the lot. Pre-rolled cones like the Cyclones Clear skip the entire skill curve. The shape is already there. You fill, you pack, you're done.

The translucent cotton mallow material adds something hand-rolling can't replicate at all: visibility. You can actually see how evenly your material is distributed inside the cone. Air pockets and uneven spots are obvious through the clear wrap, so you can tap and adjust before lighting up. That alone makes for a more consistent burn from start to finish.

Compared to standard Cyclones flavoured cones (like the Strawberry or Blueberry versions), the Clear variant is unflavoured. That's a deliberate choice — if you want to taste your blend without any added sweetness or flavouring, Clear is the one to grab. The flavoured versions have their fans, but they do mask whatever you've packed inside. We'd pick the Clear version 9 times out of 10 for that reason alone.

How to Fill a Cyclones Clear Cone

  1. Remove the Cyclones Clear cone from its protective tube. Handle it by the wider open end to avoid denting the narrow tip.
  2. If the cone doesn't already have a tip or filter insert, roll a small strip of card stock into a cylinder and place it snugly into the narrow end. This stops material pulling through and gives you something to hold.
  3. Grind your smoking blend to a medium consistency — not powder-fine, not chunky. A 2-piece or 4-piece grinder works well here.
  4. Hold the cone upright with the wide end facing up. Pinch small amounts of ground material into the opening, letting it fall toward the narrow end.
  5. After every few pinches, tap the cone gently on a flat surface or use a thin packing tool (a pen works) to press the material down lightly. You want it firm but not brick-tight — air still needs to flow through.
  6. Fill to roughly 5mm below the rim. Twist or fold the open end shut. The cotton mallow material doesn't twist as neatly as paper, so a gentle fold-and-tuck works better.
  7. Light the twisted or folded tip evenly, rotating the cone as you go. The translucent material catches flame easily and burns at a steady, even rate.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are Cyclones Clear cones made from?

Cotton mallow — a plant-based cellulose material sourced in the Philippines. It produces a translucent, smooth-burning wrap that's distinctly different from wood pulp or hemp paper. The result is a near-tasteless smoke with low ash production.

Are Cyclones Clear cones flavoured?

No. The Clear version is unflavoured, which is the whole point — you taste your blend, not the cone. Cyclones does make flavoured versions (Strawberry, Blueberry, and others) if you want added sweetness.

How many cones come in each Cyclones Clear pack?

Each pack contains an individual pre-rolled cone sealed inside a see-through protective tube. One cone per tube, ready to fill.

Do Cyclones Clear cones burn faster than regular papers?

The opposite, actually. Cotton mallow burns slower and more evenly than most standard rolling papers. The material holds a consistent burn line, which reduces the chance of canoeing or running.

Can I see what's inside the cone while smoking?

Yes — the translucent body lets you see the contents clearly. This is useful when packing (you can spot air gaps) and while smoking (you can see how far down the burn has progressed).

Do I need a filter tip with Cyclones Clear?

Strongly recommended. The cone shape means loose material can pull through the narrow end without a tip in place. A rolled card filter or pre-made tip insert sorts this out in seconds.

Why does my Cyclones Clear cone keep going out?

Almost always an overpacking issue. Cotton mallow restricts airflow more than paper when packed too tightly. Ease up on the density — medium-firm is the target. You should be able to draw through the cone with light effort before lighting.
