EHLE-X-Trakt Replacement Set — spare frit and o-rings
The EHLE-X-Trakt Replacement Set is a spare-parts kit that restores a broken or worn EHLE-X-Trakt glass extractor to working order. Inside the box: one fritted glass filter disc and two silicone o-rings. That's it — no tools, no extras, just the two parts that actually give up on you first.
Why this replacement set exists
Because glass breaks and rubber wears out. The EHLE-X-Trakt is a high-end closed-column extractor made entirely of borosilicate glass, with a sintered glass frit doing the filtering work at the bottom. Drop the column on a tiled floor, over-tighten the assembly, or run it too many cycles without cleaning — and the frit cracks or clogs. Lose an o-ring down the sink during a rinse and the seal's gone. Either way, the whole extractor is sitting useless on the shelf.
Rather than replacing a EUR 80+ piece of glass over a EUR 2 rubber ring, you swap the part that failed. That's the whole point. We've been selling EHLE glass since the early days and the frit-plus-o-ring combo is far and away the most-asked-for spare — so much so that EHLE bundles them together as one set.

How to fit the replacement parts
- Disassemble your EHLE-X-Trakt completely. Rinse and dry every section — no residue left behind.
- Remove the old frit disc from its seat. If it's cracked, take care with the shards.
- Seat the new fritted glass disc in the filter chamber, flat side down, centred.
- Remove any old or damaged o-rings from the joints. Wipe the grooves clean.
- Fit the two new silicone o-rings into their seats. Don't stretch them — roll them on.
- Reassemble the column hand-tight. Over-tightening is what broke it the first time.
- Do a cold dry-fit test before any solvent goes near it. Check the seals hold.
Honest limitations
This set only replaces the frit and two o-rings. If you've cracked the column itself, the reducer, or the collection chamber, this set won't help you — you'll need a full replacement extractor. Also worth saying: the frit is a single universal disc that fits the standard EHLE-X-Trakt. If you've got a custom or older variant, measure before ordering. The o-rings are silicone, not Viton — fine for standard use, but if you're working with aggressive solvents beyond the intended purpose of the extractor, that matters.
Complete your setup: if the column itself has gone, grab the full EHLE-X-Trakt Glass Extractor to replace it. For cleaning the frit between runs (which extends its life dramatically), a bottle of iso 99% and a soft glass brush do the job.
Frequently Asked Questions
Will this fit my EHLE-X-Trakt size S/M?
Yes — the replacement set is the original EHLE part and fits the standard EHLE-X-Trakt range including the S/M. If you have a much older or custom variant, measure the frit diameter before ordering to be safe.
Can I just use any generic o-ring?
Technically yes, practically no. Generic o-rings often aren't solvent-grade silicone and can swell, leak, or contaminate your extract. The EHLE o-rings in this set are matched to the column grooves — use them.
How do I clean the frit so it lasts longer?
Soak the disc in warm 99% isopropyl alcohol for 15–30 minutes after each run, then rinse and air-dry. Avoid dishwashers, harsh scrubbing, or sudden temperature changes — thermal shock cracks sintered glass.
Why did my frit crack in the first place?
Usually one of three reasons: clogged pores causing pressure build-up, over-tightening the assembly, or thermal shock from cold solvent hitting a warm disc. Clean between runs, hand-tighten only, and let parts equilibrate to room temperature.
Do I get one or two frits in the set?
One fritted glass filter disc and two o-rings. The o-rings wear out roughly twice as fast as the frit, which is why EHLE pairs them this way.
Is the frit made of the same glass as the column?
Yes — sintered borosilicate glass, the same material family as the rest of the EHLE-X-Trakt. That matches thermal expansion across the whole assembly and keeps the seal stable.
