Hash Plant Cannabis Seeds by Sensi Seeds

Hash Plant is a 90% indica cannabis seed strain from Sensi Seeds that descends directly from one of the finest Afghani genetics ever brought out of the Hindu Kush region. Crossed with Northern Lights — another heavyweight from the Afghan family — this regular seed produces compact, resin-drenched plants with a flowering time of just 40–45 days. If you want old-school hash genetics without the guesswork, this is where you start.

What Makes Hash Plant Seeds Special

Hash Plant carries genetics that most modern hybrids can only dream about. The original Hash Plant clone — a preserved rarity from the Hindu Kush — was crossed with Northern Lights to create a strain that became a backbone of the entire Sensi Seeds catalogue. Many of their most popular hybrids trace lineage back to this plant, which tells you everything about the quality of the genetic material you're working with.

The 90/10 indica-to-sativa ratio means you're getting a plant that grows like a textbook indica: short, bushy, and absolutely caked in trichomes. We've seen growers pull these out of the tent looking like they've been rolled in sugar. The resin production is genuinely exceptional — this is a strain bred specifically for hash-making, and every bud reflects that purpose. Thick, sticky, and dense enough to thud when they hit the trim tray.

The aroma is where the nostalgia kicks in. Crack open a cured jar and you get that deep, rich hashish smell that old-school smokers will recognise immediately — spicy, sharp, and unmistakably Afghani. The smoke is heavy and full-bodied, leaving a sweet hash scent hanging in the air. If you grew up around imported Afghan hash in the '80s or '90s, Hash Plant will transport you straight back.

Hash Plant Seeds — Variant Guide

Hash Plant comes in one pack size: 10 regular seeds. Regular means you'll get a natural mix of male and female plants — typically around a 50/50 split, so expect roughly 5 females from a pack of 10. If you're breeding or hunting for a standout mother plant, regular seeds are exactly what you want. If you only need females for flower production, you'll need to sex your plants during early flowering and remove the males.

Why Hash Plant Deserves a Spot in Your Grow

There are two reasons growers keep coming back to Hash Plant, and neither of them is hype. First: the flowering time. At 40–45 days, this is one of the fastest-finishing photoperiod strains you can buy. That's not a typo — while most indicas need 8–9 weeks, Hash Plant can be harvest-ready in under 7. For indoor growers running multiple cycles per year, that speed adds up fast. You can squeeze in an extra run that slower strains simply won't allow.

Second: the resin. This plant was bred for hash production, and it shows. The trichome coverage extends well beyond the buds onto the sugar leaves and even parts of the stems. If you've got a set of bubble bags or a dry sift screen, Hash Plant trim is practically a second harvest on its own. The return on hash-making material from this strain is noticeably higher than most modern polyhybrids.

The honest limitation? These are regular seeds, so you will need to identify and remove males unless you're intentionally breeding. And outdoors, Hash Plant is fussy about climate — it genuinely needs that warm, Mediterranean sun to perform. Northern European outdoor growers will struggle unless they've got a greenhouse. Indoors, though, it's about as forgiving as cannabis gets: short internodes, manageable height, and a structure that responds well to SOG setups where you can pack plants tightly.

Compared to something like Sensi Seeds' Northern Lights (which shares half the genetics), Hash Plant finishes faster and produces denser resin coverage, but Northern Lights tends to yield slightly more flower weight. If maximum bag appeal and hash-making potential matter more to you than sheer volume, Hash Plant is the better pick. We'd choose it every time for extraction work.

How to Grow Hash Plant Seeds

  1. Germinate your Hash Plant seeds using the paper towel method or directly in a propagation plug. Maintain a temperature of 22–25°C and keep the medium moist but not waterlogged. Taproots typically emerge within 24–72 hours.
  2. Transplant seedlings into their vegetative containers once the first true leaves appear. Hash Plant stays compact, so 7–11 litre pots work well for indoor grows. The short, bushy structure makes it a strong candidate for Sea of Green (SOG) setups with minimal vegetative time.
  3. Veg for 2–4 weeks depending on your space. Because Hash Plant barely stretches during flowering, what you see in veg is roughly what you get. Light defoliation of lower fan leaves helps airflow around the dense canopy.
  4. Sex your plants once you flip to 12/12. Males typically show pre-flowers (small pollen sacs at the nodes) within the first 7–10 days of the flowering light cycle. Remove males promptly to prevent pollination of your females.
  5. During the 40–45 day flowering period, keep relative humidity below 50% — those dense, resin-heavy buds are magnets for mould if moisture lingers. A good extraction fan and dehumidifier are not optional here.
  6. Harvest when trichomes shift from clear to milky-white with around 10–20% amber. Given the heavy indica genetics, harvesting with more amber trichomes will push the effect further towards a deep body stone.
  7. Dry in a dark room at 18–20°C and 55–60% humidity for 10–14 days, then cure in glass jars for a minimum of 2 weeks. The spicy, hashy aroma develops significantly during a proper cure — don't rush this step.

Running Hash Plant in a SOG setup? Pair it with a complete grow tent kit for a controlled environment that keeps humidity in check during those dense, resin-packed final weeks. If you're planning to process the trim into hash, a set of bubble bags turns Hash Plant's exceptional trichome production into proper water hash — this strain was literally bred for it.
