Nine generations of backcrossing gave this Amnesia Haze Auto the full sativa punch of the original — 21% THC, fruity-floral terpenes, and 450–550 g/m² indoors — in just 56–66 days from seed. Expert Seeds built a proper autoflower here, not a compromise. Available in 3-seed and 5-seed packs.

Amnesia Haze Auto Cannabis Seeds by Expert Seeds

Amnesia Haze Auto is an autoflowering cannabis seed strain from Expert Seeds that delivers the full-throttle sativa character of the original Amnesia Haze in a fraction of the time. Nine generations of careful backcrossing went into stabilising this Amnesia Haze x Ruderalis hybrid — and the result is a 21% THC autoflower that genuinely competes with photoperiod strains on potency and yield. Seed to harvest in 56–66 days, with indoor yields of 450–550 g/m². That's not a typo.

Why Amnesia Haze Auto Seeds Belong in Your Grow Room

The original Amnesia Haze is a multiple Cannabis Cup winner — first place at the High Times Cannabis Cup in 2004 and again in 2012, according to NuggMD's strain review. The problem? Photoperiod Amnesia Haze is notoriously slow. We're talking 10–12 weeks of flowering on top of a full veg cycle. That's a long wait, and not everyone has the light schedule flexibility or the patience for it.

Expert Seeds spent nine generations — not three, not five, nine — crossing Amnesia Haze back into Ruderalis genetics to lock down a stable autoflowering version that doesn't sacrifice the things people actually grow Amnesia Haze for: the sativa-forward head effect, the fruity-floral terpene profile, and respectable yields. At 21% THC, this auto sits comfortably alongside many photoperiod strains. According to a classification study published in Molecules (PMC8948958), Amnesia Haze varieties were analysed alongside other sativa-dominant strains and consistently showed distinct chemical profiles characteristic of the Amnesia lineage.

The honest limitation? Outdoor yields are more modest — expect 60–80 grams per plant rather than the indoor numbers. Autoflowers don't respond to light manipulation the way photoperiods do, so you can't extend veg to build a bigger frame. Indoors under good light, though, 450–550 g/m² is genuinely impressive for an auto. That's the trade-off: you lose some outdoor bulk but gain speed and simplicity.

Growing Amnesia Haze Auto Seeds: What to Expect

Amnesia Haze Auto is one of those strains that rewards basic competence more than advanced technique. Because she's autoflowering, the light cycle doesn't trigger flowering — she'll flip on her own internal clock regardless of what your timer says. Most growers run 18/6 or 20/4 from start to finish and leave it at that.

A few things we'd flag from what we've seen with sativa-dominant autos: they stretch. Amnesia Haze Auto will put on height in the first couple of weeks of flower, so if you're working in a shorter tent, keep that in mind. LST (low-stress training) early on — gently bending the main stem to open up the canopy — works well with this strain and doesn't stress autos the way topping sometimes can.

The 56–66 day seed-to-harvest window is realistic if your environment is dialled in. Temperature swings, underwatering, or root problems can push that out. The fruity, floral terpene profile develops best in the final two weeks, so don't rush the chop — let the trichomes tell you when she's ready.

  1. Germinate seeds using the paper towel method or directly in a small pot of light, airy soil. Taproot should appear within 24–72 hours.
  2. Transplant into the final container early — autoflowers don't love being repotted. A 10–15 litre fabric pot works well for indoor grows.
  3. Set lights to 18/6 or 20/4 from day one. No need to switch to 12/12; she'll flower automatically around day 21–28.
  4. Begin light feeding once the first true leaves appear. Sativa-dominant autos are sensitive to overfeeding, so start at half the recommended nutrient dose and increase gradually.
  5. Apply LST during the first 3 weeks to open up the canopy and encourage even light distribution across multiple bud sites.
  6. Watch for the stretch in early flower — she may double in height. Adjust light distance accordingly.
  7. In the final 10–14 days, monitor trichome colour with a jeweller's loupe. Harvest when trichomes shift from clear to mostly milky with a few amber.
  8. Dry in a dark, well-ventilated space at 18–21°C and 55–60% humidity for 7–10 days, then cure in glass jars for at least 2 weeks.

Flavour and Aroma of Amnesia Haze Auto

The terpene profile on this one is distinctly fruity and floral — think ripe citrus with a sweet, almost perfumed undertone. It's the kind of smell that fills a room when you crack open a curing jar. The taste follows through: sweet on the inhale with a floral, slightly earthy finish. According to research published in the International Journal of Molecular Sciences (PMC8948958), Amnesia Haze varieties were classified using Raman spectroscopy and showed unique spectral signatures, which points to a genuinely distinct chemical composition compared to other sativa strains.

If you've grown the photoperiod Amnesia Haze before, the auto version is recognisably the same plant in terms of nose and flavour. The nine generations of backcrossing Expert Seeds put in clearly paid off here — this doesn't taste like a watered-down auto version. It tastes like Amnesia Haze.

Amnesia Haze Auto vs Photoperiod Amnesia Haze

The obvious question: why go auto instead of the original? Here's how they stack up.

The auto gives up yield — particularly outdoors, where the difference is massive. But if speed matters, or if you want to run multiple cycles in a season, the auto is the practical choice. At 21% THC, the potency gap is negligible. We'd pick the auto for small indoor setups and the photoperiod for outdoor growers with space and patience.

Running Amnesia Haze Auto indoors? A complete grow tent kit gives you the light, ventilation, and carbon filter sorted in one go — no guessing which components work together. If you're growing in soil, pair these seeds with a quality light mix and organic nutrients to get the most out of that fruity terpene profile.
