Meringue Feminised Cannabis Seeds by Dutch Passion
Meringue is a feminised indica-dominant hybrid from Dutch Passion's USA Special line that crosses Wedding Cake with Animal Cookies to produce enormous, crystal-coated colas and a sugary-sweet flavour profile. With roughly 8 weeks of flowering and extra-large yields of dense, elongated buds, she's built for growers who want serious weight without sacrificing bag appeal. The smoke is as smooth as the name suggests — and the effects stick around for a solid 3 hours.
Which Pack Size?
Meringue feminised seeds come in packs of 3 or 5. If you're running a single tent and want to pheno-hunt just enough to find your favourite keeper, the 3-pack does the job. Go with the 5-pack if you're filling a larger canopy or want a couple of backup seeds in the vault — Dutch Passion's germination rates are consistently solid, but having spares never hurts.

Complete your setup: Meringue's heavy colas benefit from proper support — grab plant yo-yos or bamboo stakes before she enters bloom. If you're growing indoors, a quality carbon filter is worth pairing with this strain; the sweet terpene profile is lovely in a jar but less lovely leaking into the hallway.
Why Meringue Seeds Deserve a Spot in Your Grow Room
We've seen plenty of "dessert" strains come through the catalogue over the years — Girl Scout Cookies descendants, Gelato crosses, the whole bakery aisle. Most of them deliver on flavour but leave you wanting on yield, or they pack on weight but the terps taste like you're licking a garden fence. Meringue is one of the rare ones that genuinely does both.
The Wedding Cake side brings structure and resin production. Animal Cookies adds that dense, almost greasy bud texture and a deeper sweetness. Together, they produce plants that develop a single towering central cola if left untopped — the kind that looks almost comical by week 6 of flower. Dutch Passion's own grow reports describe secondary branches weighed down to the breaking point by dense nugs with a heavy feel even after curing. That's not marketing fluff; it's a genuine heads-up. If you don't install a support net or stakes during veg, you'll be propping up branches with chopsticks and string by mid-bloom. We've heard it more than once from customers who learned the hard way.
The honest limitation? She's not a beginner-proof, leave-it-and-forget-it plant. That enormous central cola can invite bud rot in humid environments if airflow isn't dialled in. Keep your RH below 50% in late flower and make sure air circulates through the canopy, not just above it. If you can manage that, Meringue rewards you with some of the prettiest buds you'll grow — elongated, sparkling calyxes of gold and green, slathered in trichomes, with classic burnt-orange pistils threading through.
Meringue Flavour, Aroma, and Smoke
This is where Meringue earns her name. When you crack open a cured jar, the first thing that hits you is a smooth, candy-sweet scent — not artificial, more like vanilla biscuit dough with a hint of baked sugar. The smoke mirrors the nose almost exactly: sweet, creamy, and remarkably smooth for a strain this potent. No harshness, no coughing fits. It's the sort of smoke that makes you take a second draw before you've even exhaled the first.
Dutch Passion notes that vaping brings out the full flavour spectrum, while dabbing concentrates made from Meringue delivers a more subtle version of the same profile — still present, just quieter. If you're specifically chasing terps, smoking or vaping the flower is the way to go.
Compared to something like Dutch Passion's Banana Blaze, which leans tropical-fruity, Meringue sits firmly in the bakery-sweet lane. If you've grown Glueberry O.G. and wanted something with less fuel and more dessert, this is your next seed.
How to Grow Meringue Feminised Seeds
- Germinate your Meringue seeds using the paper towel method or directly in a starter plug. Dutch Passion feminised seeds have a strong germination track record — expect taproots within 24–72 hours in most cases.
- Transplant seedlings into their final pots once the first true leaves appear. A 15–20 litre pot works well for indoor grows; outdoor growers can go bigger for even larger yields.
- During vegetative growth, decide your training strategy early. Left untopped, Meringue develops one massive central cola — impressive but risky in tight spaces. Topping once or twice and using low-stress training (LST) opens up the canopy and creates multiple large bud sites instead of one dominant spear.
- Install your support structure now — not later. Trellis netting, bamboo stakes, or plant yo-yos. By mid-flower you'll be glad you did, because those dense secondary buds get genuinely heavy.
- Flip to 12/12 when your canopy fills roughly 70% of the available space. Meringue doesn't stretch excessively, but she will put on some height in the first two weeks of bloom.
- Maintain humidity below 50% from week 4 of flower onwards. Those dense, elongated buds trap moisture — good airflow through the canopy is non-negotiable.
- Harvest at around 8 weeks of flowering. Some growers let Meringue run to 9 weeks for a last-minute swell and a heavier, more sedative effect. Check trichomes with a loupe: mostly cloudy with a few amber is the sweet spot for balanced potency.
- Dry slowly in a dark room at 18–20°C and 55–60% RH for 10–14 days, then cure in airtight jars for at least 2 weeks. The candy-sweet terps really develop during a proper cure — rushing this step is the single biggest waste of a good Meringue grow.
