Monster Feminized Cannabis Seeds by Eva Seeds

Monster feminized is a sativa-dominant hybrid (80/20) from Eva Seeds that won first place in the resin category at Spannabis 2009 — and one look at a mature bud tells you why. With genetics tracing back through Mexico, Colombia, Meao Thai, Uzbekistan, and a G13 Hash Plant cross, this strain packs a complex lineage into a plant that's surprisingly easy to grow. Yields of 750–1,000g/m² are not a typo. This thing produces.

80% Sativa / 20% Indica Flowering: 65–70 Days Yield: 750–1,000g/m² THC: ~17% Spannabis 2009 Winner 18+ only

Why Monster Feminized Seeds Stand Out

We've carried Eva Seeds for years, and Monster feminized is one of those strains that keeps coming back into conversation. The resin production is genuinely exceptional — buds come out absolutely caked, which is why it took the top spot at Spannabis 2009 in the resin category. If you're interested in hash production or extracts, this is the strain to grow. The trichome coverage is dense and visible to the naked eye well before harvest.

The flavour profile sits in spicy and nutty territory — think wooden casks with a peppery edge. Not fruity, not sweet. It's a grown-up smoke. The effect leans sativa with indica undertones: a clear-headed punch that settles into something more physical. At around 17% THC with low CBD, it hits harder than the percentage might suggest. According to research published in PMC, THC is the main psychoactive chemical in cannabis, with other cannabinoids such as CBD contributing to the overall profile of effects (PMC, Chemical Composition of Commercial Cannabis, 2024). Monster's low CBD and moderate THC create a straightforward, no-nonsense experience.

One honest limitation: the buds get heavy. Seriously heavy. You will need to support the branches during flowering, or they'll bend and potentially snap. It's not a flaw — it's a consequence of the ridiculous yield this plant puts out. Budget for some plant stakes or a trellis net.

Growing Monster Feminized Seeds — What to Expect

Monster feminized is one of the more forgiving strains we've come across. Eva Seeds bred this to be low-maintenance: it copes well with excess fertiliser (a mistake that kills fussier genetics), needs minimal feeding to survive, and will even produce under energy-saving lamps if that's all you've got. That said, give it proper lighting and it'll reward you proportionally — 750 to 1,000 grams per square metre is the documented range.

The plant produces thick, elongated buds that stay relatively airy rather than rock-hard. This is actually a benefit: dense, compact buds are more prone to mould in humid conditions. Monster's bud structure lets air circulate while still packing on weight. Every surface is covered in hairs and resin glands — this is a hash maker's dream plant.

Compared to something like Critical+ from Dinafem, which flowers faster at around 45–50 days but yields less resin, Monster trades a couple of extra weeks for substantially more trichome coverage and a higher ceiling on total yield. If you're growing for extraction, Monster is the better pick. If you want speed, look elsewhere.

How to Grow Monster Feminized Seeds

  1. Germinate your Monster feminized seeds using the paper towel method or directly in a small pot of moist, light soil. Taproots typically appear within 24–72 hours.
  2. Transplant seedlings into their final containers once they've developed 2–3 sets of true leaves. Monster isn't fussy about soil — a standard cannabis-friendly mix with good drainage works fine.
  3. Maintain an 18/6 light cycle during vegetative growth. Monster responds well to topping or LST (low-stress training) to create an even canopy and maximise light exposure across multiple bud sites.
  4. Switch to a 12/12 light cycle to trigger flowering. Mark your calendar: you're looking at 65–70 days from flip to harvest.
  5. Install support stakes, a trellis net, or bamboo canes by week 3–4 of flowering. The buds will get heavy enough to snap branches if left unsupported — this is not optional with Monster.
  6. Monitor humidity closely during late flowering. The thick resin layer can trap moisture against bud surfaces. Keep relative humidity below 50% in the final two weeks.
  7. Harvest when trichomes shift from clear to milky with a few amber heads. Dry slowly in a dark room at 18–20°C for 7–10 days, then cure in glass jars for at least 2 weeks.

Taste, Aroma, and Effect of Monster

Crack open a cured jar of Monster and you get a wave of spice — not sweet spice, but something closer to black pepper and cumin, with a nutty, almost oaky undertone. Eva Seeds describes it as "spices and wooden casks," and that's genuinely accurate. It's a distinctive profile that stands apart from the fruit-salad genetics dominating the market right now.

The smoke is dense and flavourful. You taste the spice on the inhale and the nuttiness lingers on the exhale. It's not a subtle strain — it fills a room. If you're sharing in a social setting, people will notice.

The effect lands with what Eva Seeds calls "a hard-hitting punch." The 80% sativa genetics deliver an uplifting, cerebral onset, while the 20% indica (courtesy of the G13 Hash Plant parentage) adds a physical layer that settles in after 20–30 minutes. At 17% THC, it's in the moderate range — strong enough to be taken seriously, not so strong that it floors experienced users. According to research published in PMC, terpene profiles may contribute to the varied effects experienced with different cannabis strains, beyond THC content alone (PMC, Terpenes/Terpenoids in Cannabis, 2021). Monster's spicy terpene profile likely plays a role in its characteristically punchy effect.

Monster Feminized for Hash and Resin Production

This is where Monster truly earns its name — and its Spannabis 2009 award. The resin production is extraordinary. Every calyx, sugar leaf, and even some fan leaves near the buds are coated in trichomes. If you've ever grown a strain and thought "that's decent resin," Monster will recalibrate your expectations.

For dry sift hash, Monster's slightly airy bud structure is an advantage. The trichomes separate cleanly when frozen and agitated. For bubble hash, the yield from trim alone can be impressive. We'd go as far as saying Monster feminized is the best strain in the Eva Seeds catalogue specifically for hash production — and one of the best in any seed bank's lineup at this price point.

Growing Monster indoors? Pair these seeds with a complete grow tent kit to control the environment from seedling to harvest. A carbon filter is worth adding too — Monster's spicy terpene profile is pungent during late flowering. For hash production, grab a set of bubble bags or a pollen press to make the most of that award-winning resin output.
