Buddha Seeds' heaviest-yielding autoflower finishes in roughly 75 days and branches like a photoperiod plant. Magnum autoflower seeds produce dense, potent buds on multiple strong side arms — no light schedule changes needed. Magnum Autoflower Seeds by Buddha Seeds

Magnum is a high-yielding autoflowering cannabis strain from Spanish seed bank Buddha Seeds, built from a three-way cross of production-focused genetics. It finishes in roughly 75 days from seed, grows strong side branches loaded with dense buds, and delivers a cerebral effect that experienced growers describe as intense and long-lasting. If you've been underwhelmed by autoflowers before, this one changes the conversation.

Why Magnum Autoflower Seeds Stand Out

Most autoflowering strains trade yield for convenience. You get speed and simplicity, but the harvest feels like a consolation prize. Magnum flips that equation. Buddha Seeds crossed three high-production parent lines to create something that grows like a proper photoperiod plant but flowers on its own clock. The result is an autoflower that branches aggressively, fills out a canopy, and produces buds dense enough to bend stems if you don't support them.

We've carried Buddha Seeds for years, and Magnum is consistently one of the strains customers come back for. The Spanish breeders have a solid reputation for autoflower genetics specifically — it's their focus, not a side project. That matters, because autoflower breeding is a different discipline from photoperiod work. Getting the ruderalis genetics to cooperate without dragging down potency or yield takes generations of selection. Buddha Seeds has put in that work, and Magnum is the proof.

The honest limitation: this strain grows big for an autoflower. Indoors, you'll want to manage pot size to keep heights reasonable. If you give it a 20-litre pot and 18 hours of light, it will try to become a bush. That's brilliant if you have the headroom. Less brilliant if you're working with a 60x60 tent and a 40cm clearance to the light. Plan accordingly.

Growing Magnum Autoflower Seeds Indoors and Outdoors

Magnum adapts to both indoor and outdoor environments, but the approach differs enough that it's worth breaking down separately.

Indoors: Use smaller pots — 7 to 11 litres — to naturally limit the root system and keep plant height manageable. Under 18 hours of light (the sweet spot for most autoflowers), Magnum will push through its vegetative phase quickly and start stacking flowers within the first 3 to 4 weeks. The strong lateral branching means you'll get multiple bud sites without needing to train aggressively. A light defoliation in week 3 or 4 helps light penetrate the lower canopy. Expect the full cycle from germination to harvest in approximately 75 days, though individual conditions — temperature, humidity, light intensity — will shift that window by a few days either way.

Outdoors and guerrilla grows: This is where Magnum really stretches its legs. Plant directly into the ground or use large pots (20 litres and up) and the root system will expand to match. Plants may take a few extra days to finish — closer to 80 days — but the trade-off is significantly heavier yields. The side branches develop into thick, bud-laden arms. Buddha Seeds specifically recommends giving outdoor plants room to develop their root systems fully, and from what we've seen, that advice is spot-on. A cramped root zone is the single biggest limiter on this strain's potential.

What to Expect from Magnum: Effects and Aroma

Magnum delivers a cerebral effect that builds gradually. It doesn't hit all at once — it rises in waves, layer on layer, until you realise you're properly elevated. Buddha Seeds describes it as reaching "complete highness," which is a fair way to put it. The intensity tends to manifest as uncontrollable smiling and laughter, the kind where you forget what was funny but can't stop anyway. It's a genuinely enjoyable effect, but it's strong. If you're newer to cannabis or have a lower tolerance, approach with respect. Start with less than you think you need.

On the nose, broken-up Magnum buds give off a damp, earthy scent — think wet soil after rain, with a green undertone. It's not the loudest-smelling strain in the catalogue, but it's distinctive. The smoke carries that earthiness through, grounded and full-bodied rather than sweet or fruity.

Magnum vs Other Autoflowering Strains

If you've grown autoflowers from other banks and found the yields disappointing, Magnum is worth trying specifically because of its branching structure. Many autoflowers grow as a single central cola with minimal side development — fine for a sea-of-green setup, but underwhelming if you're growing 1 to 4 plants and want each one to produce. Magnum's genetics push it to develop multiple strong branches, each capable of carrying substantial flower weight. Compare that to a typical single-cola auto, and you're looking at noticeably more dried weight per plant.

Against photoperiod strains, Magnum won't match the absolute ceiling of a well-trained photoperiod plant in a large setup. No autoflower will. But for the 75-day turnaround and zero need to manage light schedules, the yield-to-effort ratio is excellent. It's the best autoflowering strain in the Buddha Seeds lineup for growers who prioritise harvest weight, and it competes well against autos from other banks too.

Feature Magnum Auto Typical Single-Cola Auto
Branching Strong lateral branches Minimal side growth
Bud Sites Multiple per plant Primarily main cola
Seed to Harvest ~75 days ~65–80 days
Training Required Optional (LST beneficial) Usually unnecessary

How to Grow Magnum Autoflower Seeds

  1. Germinate seeds using your preferred method — paper towel, direct sow, or jiffy pellet. Magnum seeds are robust and typically crack within 24 to 72 hours.
  2. Transplant seedlings into their final pot as early as possible. Autoflowers don't respond well to transplant shock, so avoid moving them more than once. If you can, sow directly into the final container.
  3. Set your indoor light schedule to 18 hours on, 6 hours off. Magnum doesn't need a light change to trigger flowering — it will begin on its own around week 3 to 4.
  4. Keep relative humidity around 60–70% during the seedling and early vegetative phase, dropping to 40–50% once flowering begins. Good airflow prevents mould on those dense buds.
  5. Feed lightly during the first 2 weeks — autoflower seedlings are sensitive to nutrient burn. Increase gradually as the plant enters its rapid growth phase.
  6. Watch for the side branches to develop. If you want to maximise light exposure, gentle low-stress training (bending and tying) works well with Magnum's flexible stems. Avoid high-stress techniques like topping — autoflowers don't have the vegetative time to recover.
  7. Support heavy branches during late flowering. Magnum's buds get dense enough to cause stems to lean or snap. Bamboo stakes or a trellis net do the job.
  8. Harvest when trichomes shift from clear to milky with some amber — typically around day 70 to 80 from seed. Outdoor plants may run a few days longer.

Growing Magnum indoors? Pair it with a complete grow tent kit for controlled conditions from day one. For outdoor and guerrilla growers, a quality fabric pot (20 litres or larger) gives the root system the space Magnum demands to reach its full production potential.
