Choco Kush Auto Cannabis Seeds by Amsterdam Genetics
Choco Kush Auto is an autoflowering feminised cannabis seed that delivers 21% THC and a rich chocolate flavour in a plant small enough to hide behind a window box. Amsterdam Genetics' first-ever autoflower, she crosses their legendary White Choco with AK OG Kush and ruderalis genetics — and the result is a compact, mould-resistant plant that goes from seed to harvest in just 60 to 65 days. The world's only autoflower carrying White Choco genetics, which says something about what Amsterdam Genetics managed on their debut.

Why Choco Kush Auto Seeds Deserve Your Grow Space
We've sold Amsterdam Genetics seeds for years and always wondered when they'd release an autoflower. Most breeders rush their first auto and it shows — weak genetics, low THC, bland flavour. Amsterdam Genetics clearly didn't rush this one. At 21% THC, Choco Kush Auto hits harder than photoperiod strains from less experienced seed banks. The White Choco parentage brings a genuinely chocolatey, slightly earthy taste that you can actually detect on the exhale — not just marketing fluff on a packet.
The real selling point is how forgiving she is. If you've never grown cannabis before, or you've had a failed attempt with a fussy photoperiod strain that hermied or got mouldy, this is where you start over. She doesn't care about light schedules. She shrugs off mildew. She stays so short — 40 to 50cm indoors — that she fits inside a 60x60 tent, on a balcony rail, or tucked into a sunny corner of the garden where nobody looks twice. And the entire cycle wraps up in about 9 weeks. That's faster than most people keep a houseplant alive.
The honest limitation: yields are modest. You're looking at around 35g per plant indoors. She's not going to fill your stash jar for six months from a single grow. But that's the trade-off with ultra-compact autos — you sacrifice bulk for speed, stealth, and simplicity. If you want weight, grow four or five plants in the same space a single photoperiod would occupy. The 10-seed pack makes that economical.
Choco Kush Auto Grow Characteristics and Genetics
Choco Kush Auto is a three-way cross: White Choco (the chocolate-flavoured indica-dominant strain Amsterdam Genetics is famous for), AK OG Kush (bringing Kush structure and resin production), and Cannabis ruderalis (the autoflowering trigger). The ruderalis genetics mean she flowers based on age rather than light cycle — no need to switch to 12/12, no light leak paranoia, no timer required.

Compared to something like the Chocolate Kush from 00 Seeds — which is a photoperiod strain with a longer flowering window and bigger yields — the Choco Kush Auto trades size for pure convenience. If you want a set-and-forget grow with serious flavour and potency, the auto wins. If you want to fill a large tent and don't mind managing light schedules, a photoperiod Chocolate Kush might suit you better. Different tools for different growers.
Flavour, Aroma, and What to Expect from Choco Kush Auto
The White Choco genetics are the star here. Crack open a cured bud and you get a sweet, cocoa-forward scent with earthy Kush undertones — almost like a dark chocolate bar left in a cedar drawer. The taste follows through: chocolate on the inhale, a slightly spicy, herbal finish on the exhale. At 21% THC, she's not messing about. This is a potent strain by any standard, and especially impressive for an autoflower.
According to a genetic marker study published in PMC (Schwabe & McGlaughlin, 2019), Chocolate Kush-type cultivars are classified firmly in the drug-type category with a THC-to-CBD ratio heavily favouring THC — specifically, the study recorded a THC content of 5.42% in their sample with a CBD of 0.77%, though Amsterdam Genetics' breeding has pushed this particular line well beyond those baseline figures to the 21% THC reported for Choco Kush Auto.
A note on what THC does in the body: according to a review in PMC (2023), the endocannabinoid system and its receptors interact with compounds like THC in varied ways that researchers are still mapping out. We're not making health claims here — just pointing out that 21% THC is a serious concentration, so if you're growing for personal use, respect the potency. This guide is written for adults; the strain and its effects apply to adult physiology and are not appropriate for anyone under 18.
How to Grow Choco Kush Auto Seeds
- Germinate your seeds using the paper towel method or by placing them directly into moist soil or coco coir. Taproot should appear within 24 to 72 hours.
- Plant the germinated seed about 1cm deep in a small pot (0.5L) with light, airy soil. Keep the soil moist but not waterlogged — seedlings drown easily.
- Once the first true leaves appear (usually day 5 to 7), transplant into her final pot. We'd go with a 7 to 11 litre pot for indoor grows. Autos don't like being transplanted more than once, so make this move early.
- Provide 18 to 20 hours of light per day throughout the entire cycle. She's an autoflower — no light schedule change needed. A basic LED panel in a small tent or a sunny south-facing windowsill will do the job.
- Feed lightly. Autos are smaller and more sensitive to overfeeding than photoperiod plants. Half-strength nutrients during veg, full strength only during peak flower if she looks like she can handle it.
- Watch for the first pistils around day 20 to 25. From here, she'll bulk up quickly. Her natural mould resistance means you don't need to obsess over humidity, but keeping it below 60% during late flower is still good practice.
- Harvest around day 60 to 65 from seed. Check the trichomes with a jeweller's loupe — mostly milky with a few amber ones is the sweet spot. Dry slowly in a dark room at 18 to 20 degrees Celsius for 7 to 10 days, then cure in glass jars for at least two weeks.
Growing Choco Kush Auto in a small space? Pair her with a compact grow tent and a basic LED panel — she doesn't need much wattage given her size. A carbon filter is worth adding if you're growing indoors; the chocolate aroma is lovely but unmistakable. If you're starting from scratch, a complete grow kit saves you the hassle of sourcing components separately.
