C99 Cannabis Seeds by Female Seeds

C99 is a feminised cannabis seed from Female Seeds that mirrors the characteristics of a landrace sativa — the sweet tropical flavour, the soaring cerebral effect, the elegant structure — but finishes flowering in just 7-8 weeks instead of the 5-6 months a true landrace demands. This new and improved version blends two standout phenotypes, Grapefruit and Pineapple, into a faster, higher-yielding plant that's earned its reputation as a "holy grail" strain among growers who refuse to compromise on flavour or potency.

Feminised Seeds Sativa-Dominant 7-8 Weeks Flowering Grapefruit x Pineapple Phenos 18+ only

This listing contains 4 feminised seeds per pack (SKU: CSFS0004). Every seed is female — no males to cull, no wasted space.

Why C99 Seeds Deserve a Spot in Your Grow Room

C99 feminised seeds solve a problem that's plagued sativa lovers for years: the agonising wait. A proper landrace sativa — think Thai, Haze, or Colombian Gold — can take 14 to 24 weeks to finish flowering. That's half a year of electricity, nutrients, and patience before you see a single trimmed bud. C99 collapses that timeline to roughly 50-56 days while keeping the soaring, clear-headed effect and tropical sweetness that make sativas worth growing in the first place.

The secret is in the phenotype blend. Female Seeds crossed their two best C99 expressions — the Grapefruit cut (sharp citrus nose, dense calyx clusters) and the Pineapple cut (sweeter, more resinous, slightly stretchier) — to produce a plant that's genuinely better than either parent alone. You get big, sugary buds coated in trichomes that smell like a fruit bowl left in the sun. The aroma fills a room before you even break a bud open. When you do, the sweetness intensifies — sticky fingers, tropical candy, a hint of something almost fermented underneath.

One honest limitation: because C99 leans heavily sativa, she can stretch during the first two weeks of flower. If you're working in a tent with limited headroom — say 120cm or less — you'll want to flip to 12/12 early or use low-stress training to keep the canopy even. She responds well to topping and SCRoG setups. Compared to something like a pure indica seed, she demands a bit more vertical management, but the payoff in flavour and effect is worth the extra attention.

How C99 Compares to the Original Cinderella 99

If you've grown older C99 cuts or seeds from other banks, you'll notice differences with this Female Seeds version. The original Cinderella 99 — traced back to Brothers Grimm's work in the late '90s — was already fast for a sativa, but this updated release pushes the speed even further. Female Seeds specifically selected for shorter internodal spacing and quicker maturation without sacrificing the terpene profile that made C99 famous.

Trait Original C99 (Brothers Grimm era) Female Seeds C99 (current)
Flowering Time 8-10 weeks 7-8 weeks
Phenotype Variation Multiple phenos (pineapple, grapefruit, floral) Stabilised Grapefruit x Pineapple blend
Seed Type Regular (male and female) Feminised (all female)
Yield Moderate to high High
Flavour Consistency Varied across phenos Consistently tropical/fruity

The feminisation is a practical advantage too. With only 4 seeds in the pack, you don't want to lose half to males. Every seed here produces a female plant, so all 4 go straight into production.

Growing C99 Feminised Seeds

C99 is a rewarding grow for anyone with a basic indoor setup, and she's forgiving enough for a first or second run. Here's how we'd approach it:

  1. Germinate using the paper towel method or directly in a starter plug. C99 seeds tend to pop within 24-72 hours — they're vigorous from the start.
  2. Veg for 3-4 weeks under 18/6 light. She grows fast, so don't overdo the veg period unless you've got plenty of headroom. In a standard 120cm tent, 3 weeks of veg is plenty.
  3. Top once above the 4th or 5th node to encourage lateral branching. C99 responds brilliantly to topping — she'll throw out multiple even colas rather than one dominant main stem.
  4. Flip to 12/12 and expect 2-3 weeks of stretch. Tuck branches into a SCRoG net if you're using one. The canopy fills in quickly thanks to those Grapefruit genetics.
  5. Feed moderately through flower. She's not a heavy feeder — overdo the nitrogen and you'll get leafy buds. Lean towards phosphorus and potassium from week 3 of flower onwards.
  6. Watch the trichomes from week 6. Most plants finish by week 7-8, but the Pineapple-leaning phenotypes occasionally push to day 60. Harvest when trichomes are mostly milky with a few amber heads for that classic cerebral sativa effect.
  7. Dry slowly in a dark room at 18-20°C and 55-60% humidity for 7-10 days, then cure in glass jars for at least 2 weeks. The tropical terpene profile develops beautifully during a proper cure — rushing this step is the single most common mistake we see.

Flavour, Aroma, and What to Expect from C99

The nose on C99 is unmistakable. Crack open a cured jar and you're hit with ripe pineapple and pink grapefruit — not a subtle suggestion of fruit, but a proper wall of tropical sweetness. There's a slightly sour, almost citrus-zest undertone that keeps it from being one-dimensional. When smoked or vaporised, the flavour translates directly: sweet on the inhale, tangy on the exhale, with a clean finish that doesn't coat your mouth in harshness.

The effect is where C99 really earns its reputation. This is a potent, cerebral strain — expect a fast-onset, uplifting experience that's more energising than sedating. It's the kind of smoke you'd reach for before a creative session or a long walk, not the kind that pins you to the sofa. That said, the potency is genuine. Novice users should approach with respect; the intensity can catch you off guard if you're used to milder strains.

According to research published in StatPearls, the Cannabis sativa plant produces numerous bioactive compounds including terpenes, flavonoids, and cannabinoids, each contributing to the overall profile of a given strain (NBK563174). C99's terpene-rich resin production is a direct result of the Grapefruit and Pineapple phenotype selection — both parents are known for above-average terpene density.

Growing C99 indoors? Pair these seeds with a complete grow tent kit — tent, lighting, ventilation, and carbon filter sorted in one go. A decent carbon filter is non-negotiable with C99; the fruity terpenes are gorgeous, but they'll announce your garden to anyone within sniffing distance. If you're planning to vaporise the harvest, a quality dry herb vaporiser will do those tropical flavours far more justice than combustion.
