Auto Mazar Cannabis Seeds by Dutch Passion

Auto Mazar is an autoflowering feminised cannabis seed that delivers old-school indica satisfaction in a compact, fast-finishing package. Bred by Dutch Passion from their legendary Mazar genetics — originally an Afghan/Skunk cross that dominated indica cups at the turn of the century — this ruderalis hybrid goes from seed to harvest in roughly 10 weeks. At 70–80cm tall, it won't take over your grow space, but it will fill it with sticky, resinous buds that smell like earth and skunk. If you want a no-fuss indica auto with genuine pedigree, this is where you start.

Autoflowering Feminised Indica-Dominant 10 Weeks Seed to Harvest 70–80cm Height Approx. 10% THC 18+

Pack Sizes

Auto Mazar is available in two pack sizes: 3 seeds for a single-tent run or test grow, and 7 seeds if you want to fill a canopy or select the best phenotypes. The 7-pack gives you better value per seed and enough room to lose one or two to experimentation without sweating it. We'd go with the 7 — you'll use them.

Why Auto Mazar Seeds Deserve a Spot in Your Grow Room

There's a reason Dutch Passion kept Mazar in their catalogue for over two decades. The original photoperiod version won multiple awards and earned a reputation as one of the most reliable indicas money could buy — dense buds, earthy Afghan flavour, and a body effect that pinned you to the sofa in the best possible way. AutoMazar takes that same genetic backbone, crosses it with ruderalis, and strips away the complexity of light-cycle management.

The result is a plant that practically grows itself. We've seen first-time growers pull impressive harvests from AutoMazar with nothing more than a basic tent, a decent LED, and regular watering. Dutch Passion specifically bred this one for resilience — it shrugs off minor pest pressure and handles temperature swings that would stress fussier genetics. If you're growing in northern Europe where summers are short and unpredictable, the ruderalis heritage (originally from Russia, where "short summer" is an understatement) means AutoMazar finishes before autumn turns ugly.

Until Dutch Passion's Think Different came along, AutoMazar held the title of highest-yielding autoflower in their entire lineup. That's not marketing fluff — the plant compensates for its modest 70–80cm stature by producing thick, chunky colas that pack on weight right through the final weeks. For an auto, the bud density is genuinely surprising.

Auto Mazar Flavour, Aroma, and Effects

The smoke from AutoMazar is mild, soft, and distinctly old-school. Expect earthy, skunky tones inherited directly from the Afghan and Skunk parents — nothing fruity, nothing exotic, just honest indica flavour that tastes exactly like what it is. If you've smoked classic Dutch coffeeshop indica from the early 2000s, you'll recognise this immediately. The aroma during flowering leans heavy on skunk with an earthy, almost hash-like undertone. Your carbon filter will earn its keep in the final 3 weeks.

With a THC content of approximately 10%, AutoMazar sits at the gentler end of the spectrum. Don't mistake that for weakness — the indica-dominant genetics deliver a pleasant, intensive body effect that's relaxing without being overwhelming. The majority of growers and users report that Auto Mazar leans towards a laid-back, calming physical sensation. It's the kind of smoke you reach for in the evening when you want to wind down, not the kind that leaves you questioning your life choices on the ceiling. For anyone who finds modern 25%+ strains too intense, AutoMazar's moderate potency is a genuine selling point, not a limitation.

The honest limitation: If you're chasing maximum THC potency, this isn't your strain. AutoMazar trades raw strength for flavour, reliability, and ease of growth. Think of it as the difference between a session beer and a triple IPA — sometimes the lower-strength option is exactly what you want.

Growing Auto Mazar Seeds: What to Expect

AutoMazar is one of the most straightforward autos we've come across. The 10-week seed-to-harvest cycle means you can realistically plan two full runs in a single outdoor season, or keep a perpetual indoor rotation going with minimal effort. Here's the practical breakdown:

How to Grow Auto Mazar Seeds

  1. Germination: Soak seeds in a glass of water for 12–24 hours, then transfer to damp kitchen paper between two plates. Most Auto Mazar seeds crack within 48–72 hours. Plant the taproot down into your final container — autos don't like transplanting.
  2. Container choice: Go straight into your final pot. An 11–15 litre fabric pot works well. AutoMazar doesn't grow tall enough to need anything bigger, and the fabric pot prevents overwatering — the number one killer of autoflower seedlings.
  3. Light schedule: Indoors, run 20 hours on / 4 hours off for the entire cycle. AutoMazar doesn't need a light-cycle change to flower — that's the ruderalis genetics doing their job. Some growers run 18/6 to save on electricity; either works.
  4. Nutrients: Start light. AutoMazar is compact and doesn't need heavy feeding. Begin nutrients at quarter strength around week 2, building to half strength by mid-flower. Overfeeding is far more common than underfeeding with this strain.
  5. Training: Low-stress training (LST) works well to open up the canopy and expose lower bud sites to light. Tie down the main stem gently during week 2–3 of growth. Avoid topping — most autos don't recover quickly enough to make it worthwhile.
  6. Flowering: AutoMazar typically begins showing pistils around week 3–4 and packs on bud weight rapidly from week 6 onwards. The Christmas-tree structure fills out with thick, sticky colas. Keep humidity below 50% in late flower to protect those dense buds from mould.
  7. Harvest: Check trichomes with a jeweller's loupe around week 9–10. For that classic indica body effect, harvest when trichomes are mostly cloudy with some amber. Dry slowly in a dark room at 18–20°C for 7–10 days, then cure in glass jars for at least 2 weeks.

Auto Mazar vs Other Dutch Passion Autoflowers

Dutch Passion's auto lineup is extensive, so here's how AutoMazar stacks up against two popular alternatives:

StrainGeneticsHeightCycleTHCBest For
Auto MazarIndica/Ruderalis70–80cm10 weeks~10%Classic indica flavour, cold climates, beginners
Think DifferentSativa/Ruderalis80–120cm10–11 weeks~15%Maximum autoflower yield, energetic effect
Auto Blackberry KushIndica/Ruderalis50–80cm10 weeks~15%Fruity flavour, compact spaces, stronger potency

If you want more THC, Auto Blackberry Kush is the obvious step up within Dutch Passion's indica autos. If you want the biggest possible harvest from an auto, Think Different still holds that crown.

Complete your setup: Running AutoMazar indoors? Pair it with a complete grow tent kit that includes lighting, ventilation, and a carbon filter — you'll want that filter once the skunk terps kick in around week 6. For outdoor growers in cooler climates, a fabric pot and quality organic soil mix will give AutoMazar everything it needs to thrive.
